During our recent stay at the hotel, my expectations were unfortunately not met, largely due to what I found to be significant oversights and, at times, concerning behavior from some members of the hotel staff. As someone who has had the privilege of traveling to over 76 countries and has been a guest at numerous top-tier hotels worldwide, I believe I have a comprehensive understanding of the standards that one should anticipate from establishments that pride themselves on excellence in hospitality. The experiences that stood out during my stay were not in line with these standards. From the onset, the reception was less than warm. While I understand that everyone can have an off day, in the hospitality industry, it's paramount to ensure that guests feel welcomed and valued. Regrettably, this was not the impression I received. Further, there were several operational glitches that marred the experience. For instance, our room service orders were either delayed significantly or mixed up on more than one occasion. Additionally, basic amenities that one would expect to be replenished daily, such as toiletries and towels, were often overlooked. These might seem like minor issues in isolation, but when combined, they paint a picture of a system that is not functioning as seamlessly as it should be. Moreover, during our interactions with the hotel staff, there were instances where their behavior left a lot to be desired. Professionalism, in my opinion, extends beyond just performing one's job duties—it encompasses how one communicates, addresses concerns, and ensures that guests are having the best possible experience. On several occasions, when we raised concerns or made requests, the responses we received were either dismissive or lacked the necessary urgency. This was not only surprising but also disheartening, considering the reputation of the hotel. Furthermore, the general ambiance of the hotel did not resonate with the relaxing and refreshing experience one would expect. Whether it was the noise levels in the common areas, the upkeep of the facilities, or the lack of attention to detail in areas such as dining or leisure activities, the overall feel was that of a place that was not operating at its peak potential. Now, I do not write this review with the intention to disparage but to provide feedback that could be constructive. The foundation of the hospitality industry is built on the experiences and feedback of its patrons. While the physical aesthetics of a hotel play a role in its appeal, it's the intangibles—like service quality, staff behavior, and operational efficiency—that truly define a guest's stay. Given my extensive travels and experiences, I found the current state of affairs at this hotel to be notably different from the premier service I've grown accustomed to at other renowned establishments. Good experience. The facilities were top-notch with everything I needed to make my stay comfortable and enjoyable. The staffs were friendly and helpful to make sure I had everything I needed. The breakfast was good with many of selection for choice. The hotel's location was also excellent, with easy access to the centre of Johannesburg. Overall, I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay with excellent facilities and a convenient location.

I travel to Johannesburg several times per year, every year and have always stayed at the same hotel, however at the recommendation of friends that live in JoBurg, I took a chance and stayed at The DaVinci, also recommending that my Brother and his Wife who would be on the trip with me, also stay there; by far the biggest mistake I could’ve made. This hotel is nowhere near the standard of a 5-Star property. Upon arrival, I noticed that there was a lot of odd traffic of people in/out of the front of the building and lobby areas. The elevators are open to the public so a lot of the Sandton Mall foot traffic is found in the hotel lobby all times of the day and night, didn’t feel secure. My check-in didn’t meet my expectations as I was not offered a room upgrade nor told if an upgrade was/wasn’t available. After a 16-hour flight, I arrived to my room to find significant amounts of mold on the walls of the shower (see attached pictures). I made the Front Desk Staff aware of the concern and was initially told that I’d need to speak with the Staff in the morning. Upon going to the front desk the next day, I met the Benedict to make him aware of my concerns, he was very smug and simply replied with “Okay, do you want us to clean it?” I advised that YES, while the room/shower needs to be cleaned, I do not want to stay in a room with very visible mold in the shower. Benedict immediately seemed irritated that I was requesting an alternate solution, very unprofessional. He offered me another room which had its bathroom (literally) in the middle of the floor offering no privacy. After walking back/forth to this room (no staff from the hotel was sent to assist with the review of the rooms) I advised that I didn’t want that room either. He then stated “Well, I can offer you an upgraded room which has a balcony”, again I was never offered an upgrade when I checked in and in-essence, the room that was being offered was in fact smaller than the corner executive room (with mold) that I booked. Nevertheless, I had a full day of events planned so I didn’t have the time to engage any further with Benedict’s unprofessional, disregard, lack of empathy, and dismissive behavior. I was forced to repack all of my belongings, move them from the 7th floor (room with mold) to the 6th floor (new room). The bed in the room was horrible and terribly uncomfortable! The bed is a spring mattress which is relatively thin. The sheets, duvet and pillow case all had stains on them, I requested that the bed linens be changed. Also as the days went on during my 4-day stay, I could smell heavy cigarette smoke coming through the vents in my room as the HVAC was on. In addition, the Housekeeping staff used so much furniture polish on all of the wood, that 2 of my shirts got stained when sitting at the desk as I didn’t realize the polish was so heavy. I visited TL a few times and I’d like to just make a few notes based on my own experiences. Readers discretion is advised! Firstly this building is state of the art with the newest of technology & the views are UP there next to God! 😃 The apartments come in 3 colour schemes and have marvellous marble table tops and flooring! I have stayed in 3 different residential apartments so I know they definitely changed a few elements as they went up each floor.. The 2 bedroom apartment was fully equipped. The only hack upon sitting in the living room is that you will think the remotes don’t work because the decoder is closed in the tv stand drawer and has to be opened when you operate the tv ( I don’t think they thought much about that element when they ordered the tv stands as it’s an element that kinda makes the ergonomics in the space look weird) Long story short, I had to call reception for assistance only to find that the trick is just to open the drawer .. and then bam.. TV starts working! 😕 -I mention this because it’s definitely happened to someone else! I can bet on that! One little personal touch that I loved is that the cloths in the bathroom were wrapped in a lavender stick which is quite refreshing for hotel towelling that is used time and time again! ( I’m yet to still come across a hotel that bothers to put sta-soft on their hotel towels 🤔) - weirdly I only found this on the apartment in the 31st floor and it was sad to see that this doesn’t occur in the 26th floor! Hehehehe ... “we getting lazy in housekeeping as we move up the floors aren’t we ?! 👀 “ Speaking about the housekeepers.... they are loud. Will answer phones while cleaning and their behavior was very unbecoming as they get especially excited if the other room in the apartment is not used as it’s less work for them (which I understand) but it doesn’t come as very professional when said out loud. One of the bathrooms had a drain on the floor next to the shower door that really gave off a bad peel smell. I don’t know if they are aware of that or have any intention of fixing it though but it would be bad to make guests sleep through that kind of problem and expect a great review. I remember just blocking the drain with the bathroom bin but it was a bit frustrating as it got in the way of the door of the toilet. They definitely did not have this kind of a problem on the 26th floor though so I don’t know if it’s an oversight when they were tiling as they moved up the floor. The air conditioning control in the 26th floor is conviniently placed near the bedside light whilst the controls on the 31st floor is by the door of the room.. a bit of hack to get up and switch things on an off by the door if you ask me.. Also , Whyyyyyyyy is there no bed turnover service with chocolate on the pillows in the evening???? I thought the idea is to pamper guests 😌 Or better yet just a lovely fruit basket to welcome guests in the apartment (or wine for that matter) 😤 - I’m starting to thin

不喜歡:我真心覺得Bookings.Com上貼的圖片完全是對走進去的曲解,我們走進了一個看上去空蕩蕩的公寓。確切地說,休息區看起來就像我們的傢俱被收回了,或者我們成了新房客,等待傢俱的送到。它看起來冷冷的,不受歡迎。另一方面圖片顯示的是一間傢俱齊全的公寓,裏面有地毯和休息室中間的桌子,90%的電視頻道都出錯48-32,沒有問題的播放頻道都是兒童頻道。顯然,這個地區有信號問題。餐具和陶器是一個笑話,1個吃叉,1個勺子,2個牛排叉,2個茶匙,3把黃油刀,沒有麪包刀或切碎刀。4個鍋,只有2個鍋有蓋。只有一盤小菜, 另一盤沒有蓋子.入住的時候,我們不得不支付R200的損壞費,我們意識到,但是,沒有人送我們到房間檢查,儘管我們到房間時已經支付了損壞費.....,壺蓋破了,島上櫃門破了...住宿地在格雷斯頓大道上,是一條熱鬧的街道,所以很明顯,沒有靜夜,所以如果希望白天或晚上安靜一點,這裏不會是適合你的地方。我們入住的當天晚上,我們想取消預訂並預訂其他地方。不幸的是,當我們去接待處時,接待處關閉了,我們無法得到幫助。對於位於桑頓的一個地方,我抱有很高的期望,他們絕對沒有達到。

After multiple emails to management about issues experienced they have simply ignored me. I'm beyond disappointed and will certainly heavily discourage anybody form visiting this establishment. There are serious issues with value, particularly the most SHOCKING bed and pillows I have ever slept on, ”tired” rooms in ill repair (flooring and fake grass in particular), no backup power, most basic package of TV, banking issues upon arrival. Overpriced for what you get. Pity, it could be good - but it's like a ghost town running on fumes. No vibe, nothing happening, no feedback from management, just an expensive place to get a bad night's sleep during load shedding.

I was impressed with the check in and the room was good. Outside of reception they put up a sign that they never start their generator after 22:00 because of load shedding. I was given suite 3, what I didn't know at the time, it was situated right next to the giant generator. Everything was good until, to my shock and horror, they started the monster generator next to my room, at 02:00! The noise was so immense, I shouted at the top of my voice out of frustration, sure that nobody would hear me above the noise. I lay awake for two hours, not being able to think, let alone sleep. Dinner: for a buffet it was very disappointing. It looked like dinner at a back packers.

Safe and lovely, simple hotel in central Sandton. Room was large, only gripe was shower which needed a refurb to avoid flooding the bathroom. Breakfast was plentiful. The grounds were big enough for me to get my morning jog in without heading outside.

Good experience. The facilities were top-notch with everything I needed to make my stay comfortable and enjoyable. The staffs were friendly and helpful to make sure I had everything I needed. The breakfast was good with many of selection for choice. The hotel's location was also excellent, with easy access to the centre of Johannesburg. Overall, I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay with excellent facilities and a convenient location.

Very nice hotel with comfortable and convenient flats with balcony but unfortunately the standard rooms are small and not enough space in their bathroom to put personal toileteries Some of the employees using their personal phone too much in front of customers I would like to congratulate the restaurant manager SERGIO who is always full of good energy. The housekeeper RACHEL is such a sweet lady with a very nice smile and last but not least, the very professional guest relation representative ZANO who definitely made my stay more enjoyable.

Thank you to the General Manager and all the employees, from banqueting to waiters - we received excellent service. Overall services of the hotel was outstanding and the food for the function was superb. All the guests raved about the food. Great hotel with a stunning location in the heart of Sandton. 我住的這家4星級酒店一開始還不錯,位於城鎮的晨邊地區,但我最後2天因爲熱水問題而不好。過了漫長的一天只想放鬆一下,洗個長澡,沒想到沒有熱水。這些事情都可能發生,我猜所以我及時告訴前台,這樣第二天就可以修好。早上...還是沒有熱水。我再次告訴接待處,以爲他們又要花一整天的時間去修理,但回到旅館後問題仍未解決。經理說維修人員試圖修理它,但修理錯了,也就是說他們從未進入任何房間看是否真的修理過,他們無法更換我的房間,因爲那是整個後方的街區。酒店和唯一剩下的房間也沒有熱水!我早上帶着另一個冷水離開。對不起,夥計們,但這是不可接受的,即使這意味着有人整晚都在工作,它應該已經修復了。哦,還有酒店餐廳的飯菜需要45分鐘準備!早點點餐!房間內保險也不行。最多換2星3吧。

Everything was in order. Clean bedding and fresh bathrooms. The Housekeeping was done well too. My Son's sleeper couch was comfortable and cosy blankets provided for Him, which He loved. It was the highlight of His stay. He loved that He didn't have to share with Mommy. Traveling with Mids can be challenging and demanding but they made sure we're good and comfortable. I did send My Son a couple of times to the reception and He got help. NB: Only challenge was no phone. Having to go all the way up there for help was a turn off. They need phones if not they need to answer their whatsapp line,which they hardly responded to.

我真的不喜歡給負面評論。工作人員真的非常友好和樂於助人,貝琳達也是如此,但不幸的是,莊園的房子迫切需要認真裝修。工作人員在晚上9點親切地把我們的房間搬到我們的女兒附近,所以他們沒有準備好讓某人使用房間。儘可能做到這一點。浴室需要被燒燬。奇怪的天花板應該關閉。櫥櫃更換。我們第二間房的牀墊需要更換,花園需要重新做,外面需要修整油漆,甲板需要更換,我們趕時間沒有入住早餐。莊園的房子在一個優雅的地區,真是令人遺憾。工作人員再次在非常古老的房子裏盡力而爲。我真的希望他們得到他們需要的升級,以恢復莊園的昔日輝煌。
