It all started so well … when I booked in on Sunday 19/11/2023. Room 164 was comfortable and clean with adequate facilities. Hotel pool was excellent. From then on - not so good. What the hotel management left out was the complete refurbishment planned. Monday through Saturday, hammering , buzz saws and masonry drills from nine in the morning to eleven at night in the rooms in my corridor. I have never been to a hotel where guests have been treated with such lack of courtesy. Yes, this works needs to be done, but should guests not be advised on arrival and offered alternative accommodation? Ironically, on checking in I got told I was expected to keep very quiet between midnight and 8 am. No doubt the builders needed their rest before tearing up floors etc. the next day. My plans for working on my laptop during the siesta hours went out the window. Even Apple’s finest noise cancelling headphones proved unequal to the task. On second or third day reception called to warn the hotel water would be off for the day. Fine, but when it came back on it was the colour of urine (see pics). Would you have risked showering in that? Sickening, and a horrible experience. If you go here you may enjoy the newer facilities, but can you rely on the management to reveal everything to you, and put your comfort as a priority? My experience says no. Cleaning staff were excellent. My happiest moment was leaving for the airport. Will I go back? Absolutely not. One to avoid.
