Great location. I was fortunate that the property was mostly empty so it was quiet and plenty of seats in breakfast area. Rooms were large and I liked that I could open the window. The breakfast is what you’d expect from a traditional limited service hotel like a Fairfield Inn. With a few less choices. If you’re a picky eater or want real eggs. Plan to eat elsewhere. Staff was super friendly and location is great. Parking is free on the streets after 6pm. So if you’re up and out from 9am to 6 pm. No need to pay.

Lots of history, great location, but pretty underwhelming and average. We had booked a room with a king bed a year in advance only to be given a room with a queen bed when we arrived and no other rooms were available. The hotel was clean, rooms are small, breakfast is average.

Hotel is located in an ideal location for shopping and restaurants, in particular for the train. The hotel it self has no air conditioning in keeping with the tradition of the period of the hotel. Some minor maintenance issues need attending to, tap feel off in the shower, breakfast very basic, but did it’s job!

Although, in its way, charming, it’s somewhat dank, with a slight odor in the room. The breakfast was only fair and would’ve been nice if the breakfast room was still a bar.
It’s quite expensive for what you get. But the historical background and location in Anchorage is a definite positive.

Great location but noisy particularly at night, had to close the windows, no a/c, fan very effective.
Very helpful reception staff.
Unique old building with character.
Good size twin mini suite but very small bathroom with nowhere to put wash bag or hand towels.

The history of this building was interesting and the staff was great, but I felt it was really overpriced for what it was. But maybe that’s just Anchorage at the end of August. It was in a good location for walking to restaurants.

The location was great. It’s was very old and unique. Loved our room.
I booked this for a Wednesday and noticed I needed it Tuesday. They wouldn’t let me switch. Charged me $200 more to switch to 1 night before. Other negative was parking. We couldn’t unload luggage. So we parked in the lot next door. Checked in and unloaded went back out to move our car. Had a $25 parking ticket !!! I know it’s not on the hotel… but ideally getting stuff in ******. The staff lady ******. But hotel was nice and location.

On arrival there was no one on front desk let alone a porter to help us with our luggage. Nowhere in hotel to get a cup of coffee through the day let alone a glass of wine in the evening. Bar area completely deserted and no evening meal on offer. Very expensive for not a lot!!
