The Black Bear Inn

This is easily our 8th time at Arnold Black Bear Inn (ABBI) in the last 6 years since we learned of it, and we had to make it our destination for our 14th anniversary. It's one of our absolute favorite places to go, chill, stay, explore, eat, etc. The owners and Inn Keepers Bruce and Wendy are 100% like family. We love them deeply - we love the Inn greatly - and we absolutely love Arnold. We cannot say enough great things about ABBI. Our last visit was about 1 year ago and we treated our 4 adult children and their significant others, to ABBI. We occupied every room and had the Inn completely to ourselves minus the greatest hosts ever of course! Bruce (formally trained Chef) even prepared us a family style dinner on our last evening there ...soooooo good! Before that, we treated some very close friends of ours to a stay - it has become one of their favorite destinations now! We highly recommend ABBI (except that it could limit the number of times in the future we can stay ...everyone will want to stay - "No Room At The Inn") but everyone should stay here. We'll gladly share Bruce, Wendy and Arnold Black Bear Inn with everyone ...it's a MUST STAY!

We have been coming to Black Bear Inn for many years. Bruce and Wendi do a great job making you feel welcome and at home. It is a great place to relax but also venture out on day trips to many outdoor activities. Best Bed and Breakfast around!!!!!

Had a very enjoyable time at the Black Bear Inn. Lovely room including a jacuzzi tub. Charcuterie Board and wine very nicely ce perk and breakfast was great. Enjoyed sitting on the common great room reading our books listening to the music. Will go back.

We loved our stay at Arnold Black Bear Inn. Wendi and Bruce are wonderful hosts. The room was cozy and we enjoyed the wine & cheese hour each evening in the main room. The hot tub outside is covered, so we were able to enjoy a soak even on a rainy day. We also highly recommend paying extra for a dinner by Chef Bruce!

Gorgeous place, the Chris**as decoration were beautiful. Delicious meals prepared for our family, we thought we were in a 5 star restaurant! Clean, spacious, warm a**osphere. Wendy and Bruce are beautiful hosts!

Wendi and Bruce are amazing hosts. I highly recommend this bed and breakfast. As this was our second stay my wife and I are looking on returning throughout the year. As the Inn is located near beautiful state parks, local trails, and Bear Valley ski resort, it is a great place for many different outdoor adventures. Not only that but it has become very special to us which gives us the opportunity to spend quality time in absolutely serene and really what has become a romantic environment. From the grand living room to the beautiful rooms ultimately, Wendi and Bruce have created a majestic a**osphere in which any individual can relax and disconnect from the world.

The Black Bear Inn is a beautiful place to stay in Arnold CA. Wendi & Bruce were wonderful hosts, providing a delicious Friday night dinner, wine & cheese each afternoon, and of course a yummy breakfast each day. The rooms were lovely & clean with attention to detail. The large bathtub with jets was greatly appreciated after a long day hiking in the nearby State Park. We hope to visit again soon!

Just returned from 3 days/2 nights at Black Bear. What a treat to be on the receiving end of stellar hospitality. All aspects of our stay far exceeded any expectations. The cozy grand room was such a nice place to wind down the day or greet the rising sun in the morning. All that has been said about Wendi and Bruce was evident, gracious, attentive and informative. Breakfast were filling, healthy and beautifully presented. Thank you for a phenomenal stay. Already thinking about next year if we can wait that long!!! Robbi & Bill

We found this delightful getaway so pleasing and would recommend this highly. Wendy and Bruce have their operation wired, thoughtful and complete. Amenities are all there as needed, and Bruce’s breakfast is fabulous! Cozy room, lodge setting. Great place to come back to. If you’re up highway 4, this is the place to stay. We’ll be back while on further adventures.
