We stayed 3 nights here with our 9 month old baby. We had a valley view room on the second floor (down 3 flights of stairs from the main level with the lobby). The good - Staff were absolutely wonderful, they were so helpful and kind. They all loved saying hello to our baby and were so happy to help with any questions. They made an effort to talk to us, get to know us and generally wonderful people. Absolutely could not fault the staff in any way. The bedroom was beautiful, some people said they had issues with mould but we didn't notice any. The shower floor was a bit grimy but then it was made of stones and probably a little hard to clean! A bit to be expected in Bali. We were provided with a lovely cot for our baby with fresh Linen and a mosquito net. I had a wonderful spa treatment, massage was great and not as expensive as other resorts. The not so good - The bedroom was lacking a few necessities. No conditioner in the bathroom, no basic things like pen or paper at hand, no hairdryer or information book on how to get one either or anything else. The mattress was incredibly soft, which is fine normally except the pillows were very very high and so our bodies sunk into the mattress while our heads were perched up high. We both ended up with very sore necks and I had chronic headaches. We were sleeping without pillows in the end. I enquired for lower profile pillows but apparently that's all the had. Towels and sheets - the sheets had grey shadow marks on them and the towels were Musty, grey and improperly washed. I would probably suggest they need to wash with a bit of bleach to sanitise because they were pretty nasty. Food was okay - Local food absolutely amazing. Anything western sounding was almost guaranteed to be horrible. Just eat local food off the menu. Breakfast was average. Nobody covered the food after taking from warmers so it was all stone cold. I wouldn't waste money on the romantic dinner or pool breakfast as it's out in the open for everyone to see and really, the food isn't worth the money you'll pay. There was a lot of stairs to go up and down, a bit of warning would have been nice. We were lugging our pram up and down stairs as there was also no highchair (baby chair) available and no where safe to put the baby while we ate our food either. Location - There was 2x daily free shuttle into Ubud which was helpful but still a 30 minute trip. The resort isn't really engaging enough to stay there the whole time and there's nothing at all around the local area (only restaurant in walking distance is VERY shut down). Views are spectacular from resort but otherwise there's not much to set this place apart. We stayed 2 nights in Ubud after which was much more convenient.
