Wonderful hotel made exceptional by the friendliest and accommodating members of staff.

Quirky Georgian property, welcoming staff and pleasant location. Only an overnight stay but a first, a four poster bed ! It was cold weather, but the welcome was warm, with very welcoming log fires and plenty of seating for an evening stay.

Lovely hotel in beautiful surroundings. Accommodation very good. Food wonderful. Staff very helpful and friendly. Staffing seemed a bit stretched at times but this seems to be a Common issue across the hospitality industry. Location is great. Lovely walks and easy walking access to Battle.

Beautiful old hotel with great character and wonderfully furnished with period pieces. You are staying in an elegant country house in beautiful grounds. The breakfast room is large and luxurious and the staff are attentive and friendly. It's a great start to the day. Although we notified reception, there was no heating in our bedroom and bathroom for the last 24 hours. It was very cold. The compensation of £20 off the £120 room rate was quite underwhelming. Despite this inconvenience, we would stay at Powdermills again because of its elegance, the ambience and its luxurious feeling.

I enjoyed my stay very much and I would recommend your hotel. The room was lovely, cosy and had excellent views over the lake and fountain. However the vegetarian option at dinner was very poor, I could have done better at Sainsbury's in five minutes and a few pounds. It was dry and tastless the staff were charming when we complained and reduced our bill and offered another choice of food, so our complaint was dealt with very well.

Lovely, historic country hotel in beautiful grounds. Elegant surroundings to outdoor pool- unheated but swimmable end of May. Generous high quality breakfast with good variety. Cheerful, helpful and hardworking staff. Highly recommended!

Wonderful location and fantastic room with terrace overlooking the lake. Perfect quiet break.Breakfast was lovely as was lunch. Would absolutely stay again.
