商業飯店(The Merchant Hotel)

Didn’t get the room we reserved. Our bed was a queen and they argued and insisted it was a king. We’ve stayed in hotels all over Ireland and we know what a king bed is. Upon complaining we didn’t receive our accommodation they told us 100% of the guests had checked in. That was not true because they called us at 920pm and asked if we wanted to move to a king room because someone cancelled. Obviously what they told us previously was not true. Our suite was super noisy as it borders all the late night pubs with live music. We moved the following morning to the room they offered to walk in and find two queen beds. Super disappointed and lots of attitude from management and front desk personnel. Their restaurant and bar are worth visiting but it ends there. Grand Central was significantly better. As a side note our room reservation was for a Victorian Deluxe large room King and we got a queen. Their website says our room type is either a queen or super king. Didn’t appreciate the dishonesty and attitude.

A word of warning for anyone buying a voucher!! We bought a voucher for my mother and father, for Chris**as. I tried to use it for the end of this month, May, and was told I could not use it as there was no availability till July. I asked could I book a room without the voucher, on the date I wanted in May, and the answer was yes. I asked could I book a table in the restaurant, for the date I wanted, the answer was yes. I just could not book using the voucher till July, due to availability?? I asked them to define availability for use of voucher and the answer was when the hotel is likely to be less busy, not full, just less busy. Another voucher con? There is a time limit of one year on the voucher and now it seems it can only be used when the hotel deems it fit to be used, depending on their quiet times and not on the customers needs. Beware

Stayed here for two nights with my husband and it was everything we expected and more. We were in the art deco room and it was spotless and well decorated. The hotel goes above and beyond to make sure your needs are met. We celebrated a birthday and arrived to a lovely balloon and chocolates, such a nice touch. Breakfast was first class with plenty of choice and staff on hand at all times to accommodate. The location couldn't be better with a great choice of restaurants right on the doorstep. I would definitely stay here again, hopefully very soon!

Super hotel with a classy Victorian wing and anew art deco wing. Magnificent entrance and grand room dining hall .The breakfasts are superb. We enjoyed the large delux twin room on fourth floor . It was very spacious with huge floor to ceiling windows overlooking the city centre. The jacuzzi on the 6th floor was very clean and on a sunny day or not one can enjoy a few hours of the Belfast skyline. We had an enjoyable 4 course meal to excellent live jazz in Bert's Bar . Above all the staff were AMAZING..polite, courteous and very helpful. I have stayed here 6 times ..so that says it all !!!!! The valet car parking is expensive but we felt our car was safer parked in their zone rather than the nearby public car park . We had damage done twice to our car when we self parked it there... Otherwise FABULOUS.

We had an art deco style room which was gorgeous and huge. Staff were all lovely especially Roisin on reception and one of the housekeeping ladies who very promptly got us a sewing kit to repair my broken handbag strap. Food was lovely for both breakfast and dinner. A lovely experience for our Ruby Wedding Anniversary.

We had 2 Art Deco rooms from Friday March 29th until Monday April 1rst. We have stayed before and this visit will ensure we continue to return. Staff (as usual) were super friendly and courteous and went out of their way to assist. From the greeting at the Hotel front to checking out...the service and professionalism was excellent. We only stayed for one night but we were so impressed with every aspect of our stay. In fact, my partner commented that she felt it was the most luxurious hotel we’d ever stayed in. The staff were very friendly from the moment we arrived. The room was beautiful and very spacious. The breakfast was all table service and absolutely delicious. It’s the only hotel I’d stay in should I return to Belfast.

The entire establishment was excellent, the great room, the cocktail bar, the cloth bar and all staff associated with the entire establishment are a credit to this business the friendly welcoming a**osphere is second to none the rooms are opulent and to be completely honest I have never had a better nights sleep in any establishment I have ever stayed in.

Had the best Mother’s Day/Birthday present ever . Staff were fantastic, breakfast amazing especially the male who served us, so friendly. We used rooftop hot tub which was gorgeous and warm, allowed to have our plastic glass of bubbles overlooking stunning Belfast rooftops. Bedroom was so comfortable with great views . We celebrated my birthday in style, complimentary chocolates. Roll top bath was luxurious with lovely fluffy towels and great complimentary toiletries
