原屋(Hara House)

What a pleasant surprise staying at Hara House. All the reviews are spot on, from check in to opening the door to our beautifully styled room, attention to detail absolutely everywhere. Even placement of aircon was perfect. I felt like I was truly away and felt fully invested in the experience. We also enjoyed the HH pink bicycle ride into town and around the park. Best of all was the stunning Fijian staff with beautiful smiles and gentle warm welcomes. We enjoyed the 3 day deal including breakfast which was just beautiful. Will definitely recommend and return.

Our room was comfortable as well as gorgeous - very stylish retro-chic, with luxury bedding, towels and toiletries. All the small details were perfect. There are often small annoyances in accommodation, such as only a single luggage rack in a double room (where do you put the other suitcase?!) no shelf space for toiletries and nowhere to hang washbags in bathrooms, awkward furniture… At Hara House all these have been really well thought out, with a nice long double luggage rack, plenty of bathroom area shelf space and loads of hooks for washbags, towels and bathrobes; ample hanging space and shelves in the wardrobe; very comfortable beds; good curtains and shutters for light control; windows that open for ventilation (as well as aircon); comfy armchairs and plenty of coffee table space for relaxing. High quality tea-making facilities, cups and glasses, and luxe bathroom toiletries along with very stylish decoration made our room feel like a luxurious resort escape, rather more special than a ‘normal’ bland and barely functional hotel room. The pool is beautiful: perfect for a refreshing swim at the end of the travelling day, with modern curves, pretty tiles, and soft sandstone landscaping. The area around the pool has plenty of loungers and tables and is prettily planted too - much nicer than a plain old rectangular pool in a concrete wasteland! We enjoyed an excellent dinner in the hotel Pepperberry restaurant (see separate review) as well as a very good breakfast there the next morning. We also took advantage of the spa facilities and had very good massages, much needed after several days in the saddle up on the High Plains. Staff were all very friendly and helpful, with big warm welcoming smiles. All in all, Hara House and its facilities feels like a luxurious resort with a real point of difference from other accommodation, and I would highly recommend a stay, with dinner, to anyone who prefers excellence over bland.

Beautiful Winters weekend getaway, very lovely place to spend time relax, staff amazing, food, service, room was great, overall great place to spend with family and friends and to enjoy the outdoors at Bright prices for the room is very is what I would have expected for this type of accommodation 👍

Hara House did not disappoint! Set in the beautiful environs of Bright, this accommodation is chic, comfortable and ever so impressive. Newly renovated, our room delivered retro elegance coupled with the fresh feel of something new and exciting. We enjoyed the convenience of Hara House bicycles and spent the morning on the Rail Trail. We rode through Porepunkah and onto Eurobin Station, all the while enjoying the rolling green hills around us. The afternoon was filled with a walk to Huggins Lookout and then a relaxing glass of wine before a spectacular 3 course dinner, a stone's throw from our room at the in-house Pepperberry Restaurant. This food was seriously special and the wait staff were warm and attentive. We were also spoiled with delicious breakfasts each morning of our stay. What was most special were the personal touches provided by Hara's owners, Shannon and Sim. They have done a fabulous job with Hara House and have provided travellers with a touch of metro class in the Bright alpine setting. We will be back! Thank you for a wonderful stay. Matt & Robyn

Review is for the restaurant only (Pepperbury at Hara House) as we are local residents and did not stay at Hara House. What a fantastic addition to Bright’s dining scene this is. Very much enjoyed our first visit here on a cold Saturday night. It has been beautifully renovated with lots of attention to detail paid to the retro sixties look that has been created. We loved it as soon as we walked in. Staff greeted us and looked after us attentively all night. Lastly, but certainly not least is the food. A set four course menu with good choices for each course. My wife and I made a point of ordering differently but we loved all the dishes. The food was all delicious and congratulations to the Chef who has devised the really interesting menu. We got to meet Owner Shanon on the way out and got the chance to look at one of the rooms. Fantastic job you and your husband have done Shanon…you should be super proud. We look forward to dining here again. Great place!

A wonderful and delightful stay in a stylishly renovated 80’s motel. What a great job that has been done to transform into a chic and cool place to stay. Well designed rooms with great furnishings. Wonderful and lovely staff. A restaurant which sounds incredible and soon to be opened spa treatments. Cannot say enough good things about our stay with hara house. Bed was comfortable, room was warm and so nice to come back to after our days of skiing. Also love the Slim Aarons prints 👌.

Hara House was stunning, loved everything about it. Will definitely be staying again.
