Really friendly staff, good food, bus stops, just outside hotel, 2 buses to airport from there, supermarket next door, car rent and nice caffe next door, good value for money, highly recommended

Super nettes Hotel. Apar**ent groß und sauber. Super war die voll ausgestattete Küchenzeile. Da konnte man für die Kids schnell Nudeln für unterwegs kochen oder einen Brei oder warme Milch am Abend machen. Poolanlage sauber und gepflegt. Man ist fußläufig schnell am Meer, supermarkt, Waschsalon, bushaltestellen und Patisserie (super leckeres Eis) gleich um die Ecke. Frühstück und Abendessen sehr lecker mit ausreichend großer Auswahl. Besonders genial fanden die Kinder, dass es zum Nachtisch am Abend immer Eis gab. Der Koch war auch super. Gab fast immer Extrawürste für die Kinder. Generell war das Personal superfreundlich und zuvorkommend. Hätten nicht nur dem Zimmerservice gerne Trinkgeld gegeben. Leider gibt es für Küche und Rezeption keine eigene Tipbox. kenne ich aus anderen Ländern anders. Wäre ne Idee.

Kamers zijn goed. Wij hadden een studio maar de inventaris keuken is heel beperkt. Bedden vonden wij iets aan de harde kant. Ontbijt voldoende maar weinig afwisseling. Tijdens ons verblijf te weinig tafels en daarom soms wachten. Diner is redelijk maar voor €15.00 kan je dan ook niet te veel eisen hebben. Omdat alles in warmhoudbakken ligt alles vaak net iets te gaar. Rondom hotel zijn verschillende goede restaurant maar betaal je wel meer voor. Personeel vriendelijk en doen hun best om het naar je zin te maken. Parkeerplaats aanwezig maar kleine plekken.

1* No A/C or heat. Rooms are cooked during the day. We stayed there late September / October. Slept with the sliding door open, but had to put up with the road noise and cigarette smoke, day and night from other rooms. It was hard to sleep at night, as the room would finally cool down at 3 a.m. 2* Did not have towels for 3 days. Asked several times a day, but still took3 days. Even then, they gave us 1-towel for everyone. 3* Hotel WiFi did not work on my laptop, it gave me a non-routable IP address, so no internet access. 4* The safe had no lock on it (see picture). 5* Took 2 days to send an iron to the room. 6* Breakfast was ok, but low-quality food. Coffee was made from instant powder dry milk(horrible tasting). Cakes had eggshells in them. I never took a second bite of any of the pastries they served. Luckily there are a few cafes 5-15 minutes away from the hotel. 7* The staff was not friendly. Especially the younger lady at the front desk. Sassy and condescending, every time. Even when asked a simple question. 8* Cracks on the wall. Broken floor tiles in the bathroom, and nasty mold(see pictures). 9* Looks like they have not updated this place in the last 20 years. 10* Our booking check-out time was 12:00 p.m., but we were asked to vacate at 11:00 a.m., even after we showed them the booking. Very rude about it as well (The same lady mentioned above). 11* We went there to drop off our luggage in the storage room. It was unlocked and unattended, with no employees, people were just walking in and out freely, able to drop/pick up any luggage. There was a sign there that the hotel is not responsible for any lost luggage (See pictures). 12* The hotel key has the hotel name and the room number printed on it in bold letters. Someone finds your key; they have access to your room and stuff. 13* Go somewhere else. Other guests we not happy either. I wonder if the positive reviews are real?

Dated, needs a massive update, breakfast a bit samey. But.... Location spot on, cleanliness second to none, hard working and happy staff. We were on the 6th floor (601) , no major noise a studio room 1 double and a single (3 of us) balcony on each side of the room which was wonderful. Only downside window in bathroom didn't open so was a little stuffy after a few days. Overall pleasant hotel, needs some work and updating not just furniture. Good base for a wonderful city.

An exceptionally good experience in this hotel. The breakfast suited us because they had corn bread and tasty home made jams. Also warm loaf which you can slice to whatever thickness. All staff from reception to waitressing and especially cleaners were very friendly and pleasant. We loved our apar**ent with the ocean view. Marcia deserves special mention as she made us a double bed! How observant and kind of her. Brilliant location too next to Pingo Doce a local supermarket!

What a beautiful hotel! Yes it’s a bit dated in decor but the people and the location couldn’t be better. I have seen some reviews saying it was dirty and, of all things the keys are too big! Get a grip people! This is not the most up to date hotel in terms of decor in the rooms but it is clean. Maid service is daily. The breakfast is a buffet style and there is always a chef cooking hot omelets and the like. The location couldn’t be better. We are not the healthiest of people but we walked into Funchal centre in about 40 minutes. The sea view is amazing from the sun terrace. There is not much going on in the hotel as far as entertainment but there are plenty of places to eat and drink nearby. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
