黑馬飯店(The Black Horse Inn)

This is a charming, characterful B&B. The owner was kind and friendly. The layout is a little unusual, it appears to have been converted from a former small pub and the two adjoining houses. The owners seem to have put a lot of care into making the best use of the space, although those accommodated on the ground floor might find it a little inconvenient in that the doors open immediately into the breakfast room. Our room (at the front, on first floor was clean, comfortable and quiet. The bathroom was on the small side but had an excellent shower. The fridge and the fresh coffee and cafetière in the room was a bonus. Breakfast was plentiful. Although not luxurious this friendly guest house is great value for money, and we would definitely stay there again when visiting Canterbury

Hard working staff made my stay very enjoyable. Everything about my stay was great. Over-the-top customer service. I showed up early and, while I only wanted to drop off my bags and go play tourist, they insisted I wait in their garden as they cleaned my room. The TV in my room had access to Netflix

The room was freezing cold and the heating was not switched on despite me asking multiple times. We had one extremely cold night, and had to leave before the second night as the heating was still not fixed. They supplied one unsafe tiny electric heater which filled the room with a toxic smell. The breakfast was also very poor with almost no options for vegetarians (no sausages, no hashbrown, no beans). I really don’t recommend this hotel. Avoid at all costs unless you’re happy to pay for a freezing cold room and unhelpful staff. We both have colds this week. I was promised a refund but it has not been processed.

The place is a dearly said just a few minutes from the train station, Canterbury East, and just a few minutes walk from the centre of town. It is quiet and very very cosy. Above all, the friendliness and assistance from the staff. I arrived prior to check-in and the staff did everything to accommodate my early arrival. Thank you so much!

Dont listen to the negativity on here about this place it’s value for money in the heart off everything and the breakfast was spot on really nice time the staff where very polite and me and my partner enjoyed our stay very much and will definitely come back

Litt spesiell innsjekking. Hyggelig personale. Veldig trang trapp opp til rommet. Kjøleskapet fungerte ikke, selv om vi ga beskjed , og det ble sett til. Dårlig avløp i vask og dusj. Misforståelser angående frokosten. ********** ga oss beskjed om at frokost var innkludert, det mente stedet at vi ikke hadde. Personalet var veldig hyggelig. Kun nye håndklær og tømming av søppel en av tre dager. Beliggenheten var god. Vil nok ikke retunere hit.

Nice people who run it, good breakfast. The lady who made my breakfast was very kind. Good bed, good shower. Good location.

It was a pleasant stay, breakfast was good too.
