美麗世界邊緣住宿加早餐飯店(A Beautiful Edge of the World Bed & Breakfast)

Nicht lange überlegen, einfach buchen, tausend Mal sympathischer als die überteuerten Hotelketten und viel persönlicher! Schon die abenteuerliche Anfahrt lässt erahnen in welchem Paradies man hier landen wird, am Weg begegneten wir einem Pferd, einem Esel und einem Hausschwein :) . Der Gastgeber Kurt und seine Frau sind super lieb und herzlich und geben super Tipps für Unternehmungen und Restaurants in der Nähe! Das Zimmer war gemütlich eingerichtet mit traumhaftem Ausblick aufs Meer. Wir bekamen sogar Strandtücher und durften uns Sachen zum Schnorcheln ausleihen. Das Frühstück mit frischem Obst, leckerem Kaffee und anderen Köstlichkeiten lässt auch keine Wünsche offen. Schade, dass wir nur für 3 Nächte hier waren.....

Un séjour inoubliable Kurt et Kana sont des hotes très accueillant, toujours disponible, de très bon conseils pour les visites. Comme il l'indique, ne pas se fier au gps, mais bien respecter ses indications pour arriver au bout du monde comme son nom le suggère. Des petits déjeuners excellents et chaque jours différents, pris dans un cadre unique.

Séjour en famille (4 personnes) pour 4 nuits. Ce séjour restera l'un des plus beaux souvenirs de notre voyage à Hawaï. Le cadre est sublime. Nous avons eu la Pacific Room avec un grand balcon qui offre une vue imprenable sur l'océan (et vers le ciel étoilé le soir) et une table et des chaises pour manger dehors, plus d'autres équipements. Le petit-déjeuner reste aussi un grand moment avec des plats cuisinés par Kana et des fruits de la ferme et du café préparé par Kurt, et toujours cette vue sur l'océan dont je ne me lasse pas. L'ambiance est très conviviale parce que, d'une part, Kurt nous place, quand c'est possible, avec d'autres invités et, d'autre part, Kurt venait discuter avec nous pour raconter une histoire (enrichissante parce qu'il a parcouru le monde), donner un conseil pour les visites, et ... nous resservir ce délicieux café. En restant 4 nuits, nous avons bénéficié aussi d'un lavage pour nos vêtements (merci encore à Kana d'avoir tout trié et de nous avoir remis le panier de linge propre le soir). Le jour de notre départ, nous devions partir tôt et Kana a préparé la veille des sandwichs et la machine à café pour que nous puissions déjeuner avant de prendre la route. Tout le monde parle bien sûr du chemin d'accès avec une partie "jungle" (court chemin cabossé avec deux montées/descentes vertigineuses au milieu d'un décor de Tarzan ou de Jurassic Park) effrayante à première vue mais qui ajoute un charme unique à cet hébergement que je recommande chaleureusement, en espérant d'avoir l'occasion de revoir ces aimables hôtes.

Nous avons passé un très beau séjour. Notre chambre avec terrasse donnait sur la forêt tropicale et l’océan au loin. La chambre est grande ainsi que la salle de bains. Kana nous a préparé tous les matins de délicieux petits déjeuners. N’hésitez surtout pas à venir séjourner ici, vous ne le regretterez pas.

We stayed in the Crows Nest room. Very comfortable room, the mini fridge was a great addition, loved having the windows and patio door open the whole stay, the sounds of the frogs at night was so relaxing, unbeatable views and sunsets. Kana made the most amazing breakfasts, each served with fresh fruit, coffee or tea. We'd start each morning with a plan and Kurt would suggest additional sites or stops. He never steered us wrong, we had amazing adventures each day. The road has been mentioned several times but follow Kurt's instructions, take your time and you'll have no issues. Wouldn't stay anywhere else on the island, absolute perfection!

We had a fabulous experience at Edge of the World, exactly achieving our goal of escape from the hub-bub of Oahu. Kurt and Kanae are very friendly, warm and welcoming (and interesting!) but also discreet, leaving us to our peace and quiet. The views are amazing, and Edge is conveniently located to Captain Cook and all the surrounding activities and excellent restaurants. Breakfasts are wonderful with coffee grown on site, yum! We highly recommend!

Great view from the Kona hillside in the Pacific Room. Huge room, huge bathroom, huge covered porch. Room was well maintained and in good working order. Very comfortable bed. Great breakfast by Kana each day. Wildlife sounds to lull you to sleep each night. And an interesting array of guests to engage. Plenty of good restaurants and activities in the area. Take care on the road down the hill; it’s not for the faint of heart.

We stayed 8 nights with Kurt, Kona & Jenna in the “Nut Room”. Pros: Lovely host family: Kurt will ask your preferences and guide you to adventures to match; Kona makes a different, delicious breakfast every day (pancakes, French toast, or eggs with toast and homemade jam, always with 3 kinds of fresh fruit off their property and homemade coffee). Home is scrupulously clean and well-outfitted (shared tv room, kitchen; each guest room has own bathroom and fridge, 2 of 3 rooms have private lanais). Excellent value. Perfect central location: Captain Cook, Two-Step & other beaches are 10 minutes away; Kailua-Kona is 30 min; Hilo 60 & Volcanoes 90. Property itself is a working coffee & macadamia nut farm with oranges, bananas, starfruit, papaya & more. Wrap-around shared lanai has killer views, breezes and lounge chairs. Hosts can lend you beach towels, picnic coolers & snorkel gear. Good WiFi throughout the home, including lanai & rooms. Cons: this is not a generic hotel, so don’t expect resort landscaping, a swimming pool or walking distance to beach. Nighttime can be noisy: you’ll hear chickens, coquí frogs and even rooting pigs (which we found charming; if you want silence, bring earplugs). The long shared driveway to the B&B is “jungly” on both sides, although paved and well-signed (Kurt will email you directions; use them - Google Maps worked for us, too). This is a family home (the host family lives downstairs) so it’s not as private as an anonymous hotel. Conclusion: as with all travel (literally and metaphorically), knowing who you are and what you want will hugely increase your satisfaction. The Edge B&B is accurately and fully advertised on TripAdvisor (including in photos). We knew we wanted a comfy, friendly home that was both rural and centrally located - and we are so, so happy with what we experienced. Thank you, K&K! 今まで泊まったどの宿よりも素晴らしい宿でした！ オーナー奥様が日本人ですが、日本人や日本からの宿泊客は年に数組しかいないとのことでしたのでレビューを日本語で投稿します。 **********で安い順にソートしたときに一番上に出てきたのがこちらの宿でした。安いうえに評価が9.4点と大変高く、驚きながら予約しましたが実際は10点満点！想像を遥かに超える素晴らしい宿でした。 毎朝、敷地内で取れたコーヒーとフルーツの美味しい朝食(3泊しましたが毎日内容が違う！おいしい！)を絶景テラスでいただきました。朝食後は絶景テラスのソファで猫ちゃんを抱っこしながらのんびりしました。 猫ちゃんだけでなく、ワンちゃんもいます。 隣のおうちで飼っているお馬さんとロバさんも散歩しています。野良のブタさんとニワトリさんもいます。 お部屋は3部屋しかなく、他のお客さんと会うこともほとんどありませんでした。一番安いお部屋でしたが、とても広くお布団もフカフカで(アメリカは薄いお布団が多いのでこれは嬉しい！)、天窓がついていて寝転んで雲をゆっくり眺めることができました。 とにかく観光しなくてもお宿にいるだけで毎日ワクワクドキドキ楽しくて、オーナーさんのお話もとっても楽しくて、毎日楽しい時間が過ごせました。 お宿の周辺には美味しいごはん屋さんも沢山あって、毎日どこでご飯を食べようかわくわくしました。 何より日本語が使えるので、日本語でハワイ島の生活や、おすすめのお店などを教えてもらえるのがとても嬉しかったです。 次回ハワイ島へ行く際は絶対ビューティフルエッジオブザワールドに宿泊します。
