祕境旅館(Le Petit Pali at 8th Ave)

Le Petit Pali at 8th was amazing! We celebrated my 30th here from Fort Worth, TX and had such an amazing trip. We brought our 7 month old son and had baby rental gear delivered via BabyQuip. Karen and Shaq set up the gear and moved us to a bigger room before we got there which was so sweet, we definitely felt welcomed as a family. Shaq was so helpful with recommendations and Karen was always checking in to see if we needed anything. The champagne breakfast is a fun touch and Natalie our waitress was on top of it. I always felt like staff was on top of cleanliness and our room was always so clean. Valencia the housekeeper did a great job and I loved that they were always cleaning around our time out of the room and trying to make in convenient for us. The decor of the entire place is precious and such a fun vibe and the T3 straightener, blow dryer, and clothes steamer are nice additions as well! This would be a great place for a girls trip, couple, or families. I previously read concerns on parking and the walls being thin but I will say the little amount of foot traffic I heard from the room upstairs didn’t bother us or the baby at all, and the parking during December wasn’t much of an issue either. If having a parking lot is priority then you could select the ocean ave property that Le Petit Pali has. Chris at the front desk was super helpful at checkout explaining the differences in properties so I know for next time but we would definitely come back here because of the great touches and the customer service! The room did have a mini fridge but I also needed a freezer for ice packs for my breastmilk and the front desk was happy to keep the ice packs in their freezer up front, just a note for moms traveling with milk. Thanks for an amazing 30th birthday trip! A note on the AC….most hotels in Carmel don’t have them which worried me a bit being from Texas but in December we kept a window open during the day and heater on at night and the temp was perfect.

This review has been long overdue and I need to share this experience at this darling hotel! Check - in was smooth sailing and the gal at the desk - I didn’t get her name was so delightful and kind. They offered us a glass of champagne. We had noted on our reservations we were bringing our doggo but, left him at home. We entered the room to see there was a dog amenity for him - such a cute touch! Anyhow the hotel was obviously newly renovated and the design was amazingggg. The breakfast was just was beautiful and had so many great local treats. In the evening we ran into Alessandra who was very kind, engaging and wished us a happy anniversary! I literally can’t wait to return and have told all my friends to go. Such a great gem.

Staying at Le Petit Pali was an absolute dream!! This boutique hotel is absolutely gorgeous inside and out. When we first arrived, we were greeted with smiles and local sparkling rosé! Upon entering our room, we were blown away with how beautiful and clean it was. It consisted of so many surprises! There were complementary fresh baked cookies in our room, along with a mini bottle of champagne, and chocolates! My girlfriend and I were also ecstatic over the toiletries in the shower. The brand and smells of the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were earthy and soothing. The shower was big and the bed was super comfortable! In the morning, there was a mini buffet consisting of fresh ham and cheese croissants from a local bakery, soft boiled eggs, fresh butter with toast, and my favorite yogurt of all time, La Fermiere! Overall, our stay was nothing short of perfect! My girlfriend and I had the best time. It was really difficult to leave our room because it was so cozy and quaint!! Thank you Le Petit Pali! We look forward to coming back soon!

Only in America you pay $800 a night and there is no porter or parking to take your luggage. We had to haul our luggage from street parking in the rain to the second floor of the “motel”. The rooms are small with a cheap Hallmark interior design sensibility. But that’s Carmel and American tourism for you.

Every detail did not go unrecognized. After staying in many luxury hotels in Carmel we have to say this our favorite! Perfectly located near everything you may need or want while staying in Carmel by The Sea The hotel is new, everything feels fresh and welcoming. Upon arrival we were greeted with a glass of bubbly Rosè. Our room had so many special details that made us feel immediately like we were on vacation even though we were only an hour from home. This is a sweet getaway, that to our surprise included a champagne continental breakfast set in a charming room with a fireplace. It’s perfectly quiet and luxurious in a Carmel way. We look forward to coming back to enjoy the complimentary bikes. Natalie our server made us feel very relaxed and welcomed. She was polite, attentive and professional. Thank you for the great service. I don’t think we’ll ever stay anywhere else in Carmel or wherever Pali hotels exist! Thanks to the manager Chris for the history on Pali, what a great hospitality group!

Very cute property, friendly staff, motel set up (outside doors) converted into an nicer upscale Bed and Breakfast. Bed was very comfortable and even on a chilly night the room stayed cozy warm. With advance notice, vegan evening chocolate (no cookies) and some breakfast items were arranged. Several unexpected room amenities. Generous window of time for continental breakfast. Beautiful courtyard to spend time outdoors. We found free street parking easily. Bikes available for use but we did not. Walking to shoppes and to the beach is very easy but downhill (uphill to come back) so biking was not as inviting for us. November was quiet in town, no crowds at all. Consider bringing a flashlight to walk around safely after dark with very limited street lights for sidewalks.

This is one of the best places we have ever stayed in 50 years of visiting Carmel! Actually, we stayed at both properties, on Ocean and on 8th Avenue….both are wonderful, but we especially loved the quiet charm of Le Petit Pali on 8th. The delicious breakfasts in the courtyard or cozy dining room were a perfect way to start the day! Perhaps the best part of our stay was the warm welcome and attention from the entire staff at both hotels, with special mention of Karen (the onsite manager at Ocean) and Desi and Wil (front desk team at 8th). All three were gracious and caring and truly helped to make our anniversary special! We will be back!

We just had a lovely family stay at Le Petit Pali on 8th. A very charming property with a great sense of style, coziness, family and dog friendly vibe. The team from Shaq who greeted us so warmly each day to the housekeeping were wonderful! The proximity to town and Ocean Avenue is great but set far enough away to miss the foot traffic and noise as you enjoy the lovely outside courtyard. As someone who enjoys details, the decor and aesthetic of the property are beautiful down to all the touches of their branding. The one thing I suggest to the management team is that for the price of the stay, it's a hard wake up call to not have access to coffee drinks other than black coffee. An espresso machine that could make lattes, cappuccinos or espresso would seem fitting for a property that commands top dollar each night. Other than that, a lovely stay...just be prepared to walk off property in the morning if you prefer something other than black coffee.
