菲卡爾霍小屋(Chalet Ficalho)

Wunderbares Guesthouse. Tolles historisches Gebäude, schönes Zimmer (sehr modernes Bad), absolute Toplage. Sehr freundliche, hilfsbereite Gastgeberin. Ein wirklich schönes, persönliches Urlaubserlebnis. Wir haben uns 5 Tage lang sehr wohl gefühlt.

What a great place to stay. In a beautiful newly renovated 19th century boutique hotel/b&b, we felt threatened like royals. Having breakfast in a beautiful garden, a relaxed swimming pool and a nice sized room, we had the time of our life! Absolutely a recommendation when you want to visit the Lisbon/Cascais area.

So many things are noteworthy, if not unique, to Chalet Ficalho... The garden, with its beautiful centenary trees, the family history, the wines, the breakfast cakes, the friendly staff, the cracker-loving dog... and, of course, the owners! It is very conveniently located, just an easy walk to the bustling center of Cascais, with its plethora of restaurants, and an almost as easy (except for the blazing sun!) walk to some of the famous attractions like Boca do Inferno and the lighthouse further along the coast (one of several, by the way).

I had a fantastic experience. The place is beautiful, interesting, clean, relaxing and in a great location. It is walking distance to the main town, marina and nearby park. As well as being a short taxi to the 3 golf clubs I played at. The hosts were incredibly nice and helpful.

Superb renovation of a period house which has stayed in the same family for over 125 years. Situated in beautiful garden and very quiet even though only 5 minutes walk from the town and beach. Breakfast was delicious served on the outside terrace to the sound of birdsong. A real sanctuary in a hectic world. The hosts Maria and Anna treated you like family and went out of their way to make you stay memorable.

My wife and I spent one night here. It is an entirely renovated old estate with lovely grounds just a short walk to downtown Cascais. It is a family -run business and everyone was was very friendly and helpful. We got an excellent recommendation for dinner and they made the reservations on fairly short notice for us on a busy Saturday night. The room was entirely new with a large bathroom and excellent large shower. It is very quiet because it is an old building with thick walls. The bed was new and very supportive.There is a small elevator to the 3rd floor. Breakfast was outstanding and in our situation was entirely orchestrated by the owner with made to order bacon and eggs. Again the grounds are lovely and there is a nice pool for a relatively small B&B. I would definitely return here. You can tell it has not been open that long.

Our experience here for a week was amazing. Everything about the family home from being designed by an insightful lady, with a black poodle, is charming and above all, gracious, just as Maria and her daughter are. They even have a black poodle to keep the tradition alive! Fresh orange juice every morning on the terrace overlooking the garden with hibiscus shrubs and sweet smelling jasmine by the door, was a joyous start to our busy day of either lying by the pool or walking a short distance to the beach. The house was elegance personified with wonderful modern bathrooms and certainly in our case, a huge and comfortable bed.

We knew this property from exterior for many years. Having the opportunity to live inside even just for one single night was a kind of dream come truth. We booked for a special occasion and hosted a family dinner in the property dining room. The experience was amazing, the history of the property and the quality of the service to make this event wonderful was great! The breakfast had all we needed, and eggs and juice fresh on the minute. Maria told us about the amazing history of the family and Gabriela made our drinks and dinner feeling like at home. A great place to go with the tranquility of Cascais residence area to make a special occasion.
