瓦姆普木屋飯店(Chalet Hotel le Whymper)

These review would have been a lot worse but for one member of staff (Mathieu) At this hotel you check in across the road. Upon arrival we were greeted with a female and young male on reception. They made it difficult for us to process a payment and to leave a deposit. They were very rude with their tone which was upsetting as we were verh excited about our stay. the following day we returned to reception to be greeted by a different staff member called Mathieu. He was very helpful and couldn't do enough for us, he showed us maps of where to go, gave good recommendations, and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for your friendly hospitality. The hotel itself was very nice just what we needed for a few days stay in Chamonix

We stayed at Hotel Whymper twice on either end of our Tour Du Mont Blanc hike. The room was small, but had everything that we needed. We appreciated the amazing breakfast that was available each morning nice and early. While I know this is normal for France, there was no air conditioning and the room was quite warm. No fans were available to cool it down.

The room was comfortable and quiet. The location perfect. The room was clean and having a nice robe was a bonus. Breakfast was appetizing and quite good. The only reason I didn’t give five stars is that the carpet in the hallway needs to be replaced. It is quite stained.

Enjoyed everything about the stay except perhaps for its funky location down a tiny street/alleyway near its affiliate, Hotel Faucigny. You check in at Faucigny and are shown to your room in Whymper. The room is a bit weird because you have to lock your door manually when leave the room. And, when you are back inside, you have to lock it from the inside if you want to be sure no one walks in on you! You get used to it, though. Breakfast is at the the Faucigny and is absolutely first class. The staff is great. You can walk to any point in Chamonix within 15 minutes. Multiple restaurants within 5 minutes. Parking is about 20 Euro for 24 hrs at St Michel ...... about 2 minutes away. All told, it's a great place! All told, it's a great place!

Beau chalet, très bien situé dans chamonix. Service impeccable, petit déjeuner très agréable. Simplement chambre de petite taille et douche avec pommeau qui fuyait

Relatively small room, but more than made up for it by a great common room with a Nespresso machine. Great breakfast included.

My room was so beautiful and clean. Had the most comfortable stay here, lovely staff too. I would definitely love to return here. The only little complaint I had was that I had asked for vegan butter couple of times from the reception as I had paid for breakfast but they didn’t really put the effort in finding any I guess. The options were limited but everything else made up for it.

Accueil très aimable, à la réception dans l’hôtel Hameau Faucigny se trouvant en face du châlet. Le châlet-hôtel est en lui-même bien entretenu et dans le style savoyard modernisé. Tarif de 187,20€ pour 1 nuit, petit déjeuner inclus pour 2 en cette fin de mois de juillet. Pas vu de parking ouvert à la clientèle inclus dans le tarif, sachant que les places de stationnement sont cher en cette saison dans le centre de Chamonix, et même à proximité du centre. Chambre en dernier étage sous toit avec grand lit confortable. Suggestion : mériterait de disposer d’un système de ventilateur pour vaincre la chaleur ces derniers mois de juin-juillet 2022, car on peine à faire courant d’air avec la fenêtre de toit et la petite fenêtre de côté. SdB avec toilettes et grande douche, agréable. Bémol : l’exigüité de la chambre et de la SdB. Petit déjeuner servi dans le salon dont nous avons beaucoup aimé la décoration, très chaleureuse et donnant sur une petite terrasse à l’arrière. Le buffet était correct, constitué de cafetières de café, lait, jus de fruits, mini-viennoiseries, pain, baguette, yaourts nature marque distributeur U (on préférerait des yaourts de Savoie), 3 bocaux de confitures “maison”, 3 bocaux de céréales, qques fruits, qques tranches de jambon cru et 2 tomes de fromage, des œufs brouillés et du bacon (V. Photo). Le buffet mériterait d’être mieux achalandé et avec un plus grand choix, d’autant qu’en passant au Hameau Faucigny, le petit déjeuner semblait bien mieux.
