Stayed at the MCM for a weekend getaway. Everything was mostly fine, although as other reviews have noted, the establishment is generally overdue for an upgrade and some of the cleaning could maybe use a second look. A few specifics that weren't enough to ruin my trip but still worth noting:
- The window screen in my room had holes in it and the flashing on the windows was damaged so you could hear a lot of street noise and conversations in the parking lot even with the window closed. The workaround to drown out the people yukking it up down in the courtyard is to crank the A/C unit.
-The desk chairs had strange stains on them, there was spilled lotion on the nightstand, the shower curtain was hanging onto the rod by a thread, and all but one of my towels had suspicious discolorations on them, including a face towel that looked like someone had grabbed it after eating Cheetos.
-I didn't end up using the kitchenette in my suite much because there was no dish soap and the frying pan looked like it fought in both world wars
Overall my stay here was fine. I'm grateful that the A/C worked well during several really hot days. I found the more homey presentation of the continental breakfast to be rather charming - there's something about grabbing the coffee pot off the hot plate instead of pumping it out of a dispenser that feels like you're a guest, not a conference attendee. It was a stone's throw away from some good grocery stores and I didn't lack for anything I needed.
