Great views, excellent location, copious buffet. Great value hotel

This is a well-run, welcoming family hotel, but it is, well, in need of a bit of tlc. The colour schemes, pictures on the wall, furniture all seem to date from about 1973. We booked a family apar**ent (two rooms, two bathrooms), which was completely adequate for our needs, and we have absolutely no complaints, but the bizarre colour of the walls, blankets, bathroom were, well, bizarre. No grumbles, and the staff were lovely, but I think more than two nights and the decor might have driven me mad.

This was our second stay at Varonos (our first being in 2017) and it was as good as we remembered. We were sad to discover that our host had died in the intervening five years - but the same family hospitality is still alive. A warm welcome, well maintained and comfortable rooms, a fresh breakfast buffet with good coffee - and of course the breathtaking view down the valley. With the new adjacent coffee shop, it's also easy to grab refreshments as you come in or out of the hotel. Anyone wishing to visit Delphi should plan to stay a few nights. You get to enjoy the archeological sites at your leisure (just a short walk away) and Delphi itself is a great little village full of friendly people and good food.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The room was very clean and had a nice balcony overlooking the main street.

It is not a fancy place but based on the price we paid, I think it is fairly reasonable. Front desk Christina is very helpful and she even carried my luggage up the stairs. Location is good. Breakfast is basic stuff with instant coffee and not to my liking. Again, with the price we paid, I would not complain at all. I do not like the AC location in the balcony. The exhaust from the AC is blowing into the balcony so we can’t really use the balcony. I would give A+ rating to the service, friendliness & the location but if you prefer more plush places, you may need to pay more at other hotels.
