I booked two rooms for my family through the Red Roof Inn app, and received a written confirmation from them. When we arrived at the property, we were charged a higher rate. The desk attendant claimed a problem with the Red Roof Inn computer. The property itself was very poorly kept. The grounds, were filthy, and littered with beverage containers, cigarette butts and other debris. It was very clear to us that this property was geared towards long-term guests and not travelers.. Many guests were sitting in the hallways and other public areas.and the hallways smelled of smoke as did our non-smoking rooms. in our two rooms, neither of the refrigerators were working. The microwaves and televisions in both rooms were plugged into a lamp on the desk. In both rooms, the grounding stud for the microwave ovens had been removed so that the plug would fit into the lamp rather than a normal grounded socket. We unplugged both because it made us feel very unsafe.
