伊斯特本里維埃拉飯店(Eastbourne Riviera Hotel)

Great hotel but not the best in the town as it is small, about outdated and the view isn't the best in the world. The shower was very poor and weak but the bathroom looked nice and was up to date but not the biggest. The hotel had a different feel about it and the staff member was great.

I stayed in the Riviera Hotel some 5 years ago and I must say not much changed since hen. The Hotel is in great need of TLC. Comfortable enough for short stay, but you can see that some things need replacement and some areas need improvement (shower door, very thin walls between rooms). Overall I had a pleasant stay though earplugs were in use.

Regular visitor. This is by way of a message to the kitchen staff because this time around everything in the hotel was great (which is usually the case)...except for one thing - the breakfast (it must have been the eggs) - suffice to say, for hours afterwards I was having indigestion-like symptoms before nausea struck.

Very very rude member of staff, told me to "go get my coffee some place else because i didn't like theirs" and refused to make me a coffee on the basis that i politely declined the 1st coffee made because it was not right. Then clerk proceeded to walk away as i was talking and closed door on my face

Not really the best of hotels, for several reasons: - hotel parking is on the streets of Eastbourne, if you arrive late you will struggle to find a space - rooms are OK but the walls are paper thin so you will definitely hear your neighbour snore, go to the toilet, cough, sneeze or any other noises they may emit - a small thing but the fan in the bathroom is quite noisy and stays on for what feels like an eternity after the bathroom light is turned off. Not great in the middle of the night (including the neighbouring rooms🙂) - both our breakfast orders were incorrect and the face of thunder from the server was a picture - the two omlettes we had for breakfast had wayyy too much pepper in them - the level of service generally was quite low. Standards were not high and wouldn't be acceptable in more dynamic hotels. Quite typical of Eastbourne really where the town feels tired and has lost its lustre - Rooms on the front facing the sea get the sun most of the day and get warm/hot and a lack of aircon forces you to open windows that bring in the noise from the busy road out front - breakfast was quite cheap at £9.50 but wasn't value for money. The hotel needs to look at chains who have a simple but effective proposition (for example Premier Inn) as this is now what many people expect as a minimum and this hotel falls someway short of that. Wouldn't stay here again.

We chose this property using Wotif filter showing parking. The receptionist said the hotel has never offered parking so there is a problem somewhere between Wotif and the hotel. We had to pay for parking and walk around 800m back to hotel. The room was basic but clean and in a great position along the foreshore.

Nice little hotel, perfectly adequate for a one night stay. The room was functional but ok. A bit dated and signs of wear and tear noticeable in the en-suite, but very good water flow and temperature. Excellent location and the service was great. Special mention to Angie on ny arrival, the info provided was superb. And to Sophie on Sunday morning, that allthought clearly understaffed, she remained professional and with a smile.

The hotel was clean and comfortable the room did get a little hot in the morning sun but there was cooling fans available, the breakfast was good and quick to, the reception had car parking on hand to use at a cost of £2 per day which reasonable as well, When we left the hotel and got home my wife realised she had left her phone somewhere and we phoned it and the hotel reception answered it to our relief, it was left in the room and handed in by housekeeping, the hotel made arrangements to send the phone back to us and we were very greatful to them for doing this so I would recommend this hotel for all of the above reasons.

I don't really need to write another review of the venue - I'm a very frequent visitor. For anyone reading this it should say enough that it was one of my refuges when I was functionally homeless, and it's now one of my refuges when I'm depressed/anxious. However...if any members of staff read this...The room I was put in had either a non-functioning tv remote, or possibly the tv itself. It wasn't exactly my first choice of room anyway - being one where almost all the powerpoints were in a "wrong"/inconvenient place.
