澳大拉西亞飯店(Hotel Australasia)

Beautifully restored and presented traditional town hotel. 8 lovely large rooms with luxurious beds and bathrooms. The informal bistro serves delicious pizzas, from a wood fired ove my, and Italian themed dishes. There's a large courtyard available. Currently, building work to complete the hotel's restoration is underway but it has been organised so that it in no way spoils the ambience and experience. It will doublessly enhance your stay once completed. Eden is an amazing little Australian town with a very important story to tell. The Whaling Museum contributes to this wonderfully. It's well worth visiting in its own right but makes an entertaining stopovers on the drive round the coast from Sydney to Melbourne.

We had a lovely stay. Our room was very quiet and comfortable. The hotel has been recently restored and it’s still a work in progress with the rear of the hotel being turned into a new restaurant and kitchen. The bar is well stock and all the staff were very helpful and friendly. We sadly missed eating in the bar as we were unaware that they stopped serving before 8 pm on a Sunday night. The upstairs ditty are for hotel guest only is lovely to watch the sun go down on an evening.

The renovation of this property is stunning. There is huge attention to detail and it’s beautiful. There is still more underway. We booked through *********** and I get a loyalty discount. The lady at the desk on check in mentioned what a good price we’d got and I wondered if that was why we got a smaller room. Maybe not …it was the Bass room. The towels, bed linens and bathrobes were luxurious but there needed to be some hooks in the bathroom. The bathroom was open with no door. There was no where in the room to put our bags . They had to go on the floor which made it difficult to get around the bed once all the cushions were off the bed. The bed was very comfortable and it was nice to see a few complimentary mini bar items . We ate in the bar - the restaurants not open yet and the pasta was a bit bland but the lady behind the bar was great and made a good cocktail. This is a beautiful hotel in a great location and I’m sure they’ll only get better and better.

This hotel was simply beautiful. We loved everything about it. The suites were luxurious. There were complimentary snacks and non alcoholic drinks in the mini bar. Our breakfast was lovely and the food in the bar/cafe was good. There are french pastries baked fresh on the premises daily that were scrumptious. Would love to stay here again when we next visit Eden

Hotel Australasia has been magnificently restored, absolutely stunning. Truly a beautiful ambiance and decor. We so enjoyed a drink by the fireplace, admiring the beautiful chandeliers and art work. Our room was gorgeous and comfortable in every way, staff were all fabulous and attentive, food wonderful. The breakfast was to die for. Thoroughly recommend a stay.

A beautifully restored property with quiet, spacious rooms. Our originally booked room, “The Bass” named after George Bass, was designed without a door on the toilet. Why hotel architects make these decisions is beyond me, but thats for another time. Upon enquiring if we could swap to a room with a door, we were upgraded to a larger room at no extra charge. The king size bed was super comfortable and the room had all the amenities we needed. The lounge downstairs, with a warm gas fireplace offered the perfect spot for our evening game of cribbage while enjoying a cocktail from the bar, the *****ni was magnificent! Dinner that night was in Pikes restaurant and it was full of happy diners. Food was good, without being spectacular. All in all a great stop halfway between Wollongong and Melbourne.

We stayed five nights in this grand old building, which has been lovingly restored to its original facade outside and with elegance inside. Pressed tin, high ceilings, bare brick with decorative partial plaster, deep baths, fire places (now gas) in dining areas, and a luxuriously comfortable bed all work to make for an excellent stay. All rooms are different, ours was large, had a private door to a huge shared balcony and overlooked the Main Street of small costal town off eden. Staff are happy and helpful and for three of our nights the room was made up with meticulous attention- I’ve never come across better- Lindt on the bed, spotless bathroom, everything replaced etc. The other two nights were done by a different staff member and this was quite average (missing washers, unwashed items, no refreshment refresh, no Lindt- no big deal but noticeable). The breakfast was lovely - a knockout for the price. No buffet here but a set price for house made granola, house made pastries (to die for), juice, coffee (real and delicious) and a hot course (all amazing, don’t miss the Irish full breakfast). The hotel is ⅖ through a major restore but you won’t notice. The dinner restaurant is next on the list. Currently some very nice bistro food is available (antipasto and pizza are excellent) and a full bar is open every afternoon/night. Snacks tea and coffee are available all day. Icing on the cake- there’s a lift so you don’t need to battle stairs as with many hotels of this type. A fabulous place- highly recommend.

Beautifully restored historic hotel. We were coming to the end of a 12 day road trip on the Harley, and had dodgy accommodation pre booked elsewhere in Eden. Called in for a drink and saw they had rooms available here, so we grabbed our bags and came back. Staff were very helpful and couldn’t do enough to assist. Parking behind the hotel was very close. Hotel is centrally located in the middle of the main street. Room wasn’t cheap, and once we got into it, we could see why, it was fabulous. This is boutique, luxury accommodation. Beautiful large comfortable bed, with beautiful bedding and insane selection of pillows. Quality fittings and clean, airy rooms period decorated and design, high ceilings and excellent bathroom and shower. Fluffy, generous sized bath robes, well stocked mini bar, tea and coffee and snacks. Bonus was our own gorgeous verandah, with amazing sea view, over the bay, where we spent sunset and saw sunrise the next morning. Had dinner and drinks downstairs, tasty and fresh wood fired pizza, with a great wine selection, and good range of beers on tap. Our stay here turned out to be a lovely little surprise, and it was shame we were only staying one night.
