I organised a night away at The Manor House Country Hotel for my 21 year old son and his girlfriend as a treat for their upcoming birthdays. How disappointed I was when they returned home today telling me of their experience. On returning from the hotel leisure facilities to the hotel changing rooms, my son stepped in HUMAN EXCREMENT which was on the floor. He was totally disgusted and at this stage wanted to leave the hotel and return home. His girlfriend encouraged him to stay. They each had a 3 course meal in The Cellar Restaurant of which the main meals were cold. The next morning the breakfast was also cold. I rang to explain my concerns to the Duty Manager who said that the EXCREMENT could have been that of a child's! To which I replied I don't think it matters whether the EXCREMENT was a child's or an adults it should not have been on a 4 star Hotel's changing room floor. She then responded, well in the toilet area its hard to see sometimes, I replied it WAS NOT in the toilet area it was in the changing area of the leisure facility. My son was offered no compensation and I was told that the Director of the Hotel said there was nothing they could do about this complaint. Would we recommend this hotel...... ABSOLUTELY NOT...... The manner in which this complaint was dealt with was certainly NOT professional.

We didn't get a chance to complete our visit on Sunday 11 February for a one night stay as I was admitted as an emergency to hospital on Saturday 10th. I emailed the hotel while in A&E on Saturday that we couldn't make it and asking that, under the circumstances could we postpone our visit. On Sunday I got a phone call enquiring if we were still coming. The Out come of that conversation was they would cancel the no show fee and we would lose our deposit. On Tuesday I received an email from the hotel Thanking us for staying, hoping we had a wonderful stay. Unbelievable lack of sympathy and coordinating their guests correspondence. I am still in hospital and will be for some time.

This is one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed at. We were upgraded to a junior suite, which was a nice surprise & absolutely beautiful romm for our two night break.The staff were all excellent, the food was superb, the spa & leisure facilities were lovely. We enjoyed every minute of our stay.

I asked for room service after 2.00am and was told no never happening we aren't open for room service so no after room service at all, might not be the best time but we had a group of 17 staying and they wouldn't accommodate a burger at 2.00-am as can see from screenshots

We were extremely disappointed with our dining experience the food was underwhelming, sparse veg dry salmon tiny portion of potato. The mattress was uncomfortable all night , my husband said his back was sore, I checked mattress this morning found it to be filthy we were shocked !! I told receptionist who wasn't overly concerned. Our entire stay was ruined . Photos of mattress below !!

Travelled on a coach trip with Bibbys of Ingleton. The hotel is an excellent, family run business, the rooms are large with two king size beds and lovely views, breakfast and dinner was again excellent. We had a two hour cruise in the loch including dinner which was again excellent. Sorry to keep using excellent, but everything about this hotel really is that.

My partner and I stayed here for one night in April. We purchased the stay and dine option which included breakfast, evening meal and use of the spa. The hotel is beautiful. A grand and elegant stately home but not imposing or intimidating. Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated and my partner was thrilled to be able to have a bath and watch TV at the same time lol We spent a couple of hours at the pool and in the outdoor hot tub with a nip into the steam room and felt to relaxed afterwards and ready for our evening meal. The meal was very good and the staff friendly and attentive. There are a couple of bars in the hotel. The Library bar with the ambience of a gentleman's club and the Cellar bar downstairs which had live music on. It was packed out with a great atmosphere and we were pleased that there was so much life about the hotel. I suspect a lot of locals come here for a Saturday night out. Breakfast next morning was delicious. Of course, we both opted for the full cooked breakfast and devoured every bit of it. Overall we had a lovely stay and would definitely return to this hotel

Just returned from a two night stay, yet again cannot fault the Manor house. Stayed in junior suite was amazing. Just fab. Only one minor detail in the bar had a pink gin served in a beer glass as staff said they'd no proper gin glasses there. Could possibly have done with few more staff to be honest. Was very busy sat and sun. Staff were working very hard under pressure. We ate in cellar bar both nights. Food was outstanding. Staff really nice and friendly. Really nice bar manager, working away behind bar and serving tables. I think he was a manager and also he was back again this morning helping out at breakfast. We had a nice young lad serving us in cellar bar last night his name tag was Matthew. Worked really hard. All the staff really nice. Beautiful place. Can't wait to return. Can't understand why it's not 5 star.

a two night stay in a beautiful room. All staff were truly amazing and as for the food , the Belleek restaurant serves the best meals we have ever had . Michelin star without a doubt
