長廊飯店

We have been coming here for a few years now and feel this last visit will sadly be our last. The verandas are filthy and not attended too. The floors had a greasy slippery film on it . Last visit we had fish guts and line on the waterfront apartment. Had to wash the blankets before use as smelt and were dirty. The views are magic .

Smokers beware - you cant even smoke outside on the balcony. Due to new Queensland laws this hotel is enforcing the non-smoking policy even outdoors and charging $100 cleaning fee, even though we never smoked inside. You will be bombarded with texts and phone calls from the management. The hotel itself is average at best. The reception area is dated. Our room, tried to look luxurious but was let down by damage to the walls. The bathroom could only be described as functional. We regularily travel to Caloundra for short breaks and this has been the most dissapointing to date.

We were able to sit right next to Pumicestone Passage. It was amazing watching the water line so close, two stingrays swam right up to the shores edge. The service was prompt, the food was very enjoyable, and I liked the local beer. So much excitement. My 90 year old mum really enjoyed her birthday.

I booked 5pm the day before my trip. On the very next morning, I had to drop everything and fly from Brisbane to Adelaide for family health reasons. I showed all documentation to Management to prove the flight booking + family member hospital admission times. They refused to refund my booking due to "policy". When I suggested discretion and empathy could go a long way, they say they care about people, but no, you cannot be refunded the booking. I followed up later, showing my accuring costs as I was still in Adelaide, let them know I was living out of a suitcase and really needed the help with a refund, and then silence.

I am in the middle of my stay. We stayed for two nights. I called at 7pm regarding the bathroom light which wasn’t operating and both tvs which were not working using the remotes. I was advised it was not an emergency and that I wouldn’t be charged for the phonecall. Absolutely appalling service for one polite phonecall asking for at least the bathroom light to be fixed. I am here on my own with three young children who are likely to need the bathroom in the night. It is disappointing this is the level of service provided this day and age. We have very rarely requested a thing and when needed get this response. The apartment is quite tired with many items requiring maintenance or repair. Otherwise the views are beautiful. However based on the above we can not recommend a stay here.

We both love Caloundra and had previously stayed at the Watermark which is a little more expensive but worth it in every way. Very disappointed that the cooking area in our kitchenette consisted of a portable electric hot plate that was plugged in. Size of kitchen made cooking very difficult. Unfortunately it was windy the week that we stayed. The noise in the apartment at night made it impossible to sleep. All the doors and windows rattled and whistled all night. When addressed with a staff member he advised us to move the door slightly until it stops as it wasn’t very secure in the frame. The location of the apartment was awesome for us. However the apartment itself was not fit for our purpose which was a longer stay.
