The property has changed hands and is not really a bed and breakfast. The room charge was $500.00 one night for a "suite" that was supposed to include a bed in one room, which was fine, and what turned out to be a pull-out couch with the worst mattress, and too short for anyone with iffy bedding. The black mold in the bathroom was noticed as well. And having to walk 15 minutes with a coupon to get breakfast. Things have changed and not for the best. Seriously over priced to sleep on what was in effect, worse than an army cot.

We enjoyed our 25th anniversary at this B&B. Luxurious sheets and bedding in the Bordeaux Rose Suite on the 1st floor. We would definitely recommend this room, as it has a sitting area with fireplace next to the main room with a king bed and adjoining corner tub and shower. Complimentary red wine, sherry, and brandy along with high-end Peet’s Coffee pods and a variety of Stash tea bags accompanied the breakfast pastries that ranged from blueberry cheese danish to cinnamon rolls to apple fritters to cherry Danish and homemade gluten-free chocolate cookies and chocolate chip cookies were delicious. The complimentary breakfast was at the nearby Moonside Bakery and we enjoyed the homemade oatmeal, vegetarian egg scramble, and French toast. We had the opportunity to visit with the gracious owners Jay, Matt and his wife, and Chris along with the innkeepers. Matt and Chris provided helpful hiking tips and local haunts.

Quite possibly the nicest, most charming place we’ve ever stayed in. Full of character and I can only liken it to Rivendell from Lord of the Rings. It’s simply stunning and the location is perfect. Treat yourselves and spend at least one night of your life here.

Overall a great location and great service. very quiet and comfortable. Also note a great personalized service with special ice cream in the room (for our anniversary). The staff was very accommodating.

It was very fun and cute place. Close to everything downtown. We would stay here again.

The people were nice but they had no breakfast at the property that we though was do. Had to go to a restrurant that was 4 blocks away. not convient like most bed and breakfast. Shades in room did not work. The place is nice but the age is telling.

The experience reflects a bed-and-breakfast establishment, rather than a traditional hotel. The building is older, has a lot of wallpaper, and the amenities such as the HVAC and plumbing reflect the trappings from a time gone, long-ago. Since we had a late arrival, the "inn-keeper" was not there; she instead called us gave us the access codes to the front door and our room. Upon arrival at the room, we did not how to operate the fireplace, so we did not bother with it. We were told we had complimentary wine, but did not see any wine laying around. We finally figured out how to get the heat going (late January stay) with a portable ceramic heater hidden in a closet. There were some signs strewn about the room explaining some things, or pointing to other things (a sign by a lightswitch said there are more light switches behind the vanity mirror) - without the guided tour of an inn-keeper, we felt like we were deciphering puzzles in an escape room. There were no elevators to the upstairs rooms, that know of. Overall, I may come back if I am in the mood to go down memory lane of years of old. But not likely.

Beautiful BnB. Half Moon Bay is a sleep little town so this vacation was totally relaxing and the Mill Rose Inn was the perfect getaway. Jacuzzi time after a long day walking around was so nice and lots of nice restaurants within walking distance. Proprietors are very helpful with suggestions and they will even make dinner reservations for you. No worries just ahhhhhh :)
