哈里法克斯市中心MOXY飯店(Moxy Halifax Downtown)

This place is a VIBE. I wish I could have spent more than one night. Very clean, very welcoming, very unique, with a party a**osphere. It's clearly catering to the club crowd. The front desk is the bar and the front desk staff are skilled bartenders. They make traditional and signature cocktails the right way, none of that lime bar mix garbage. There was a live DJ spinning in the lobby/bar. Lots of comfortable seating. The room itself has a kind of industrial aesthetic, but not a cold one. To maximize space, the room has a host of hooks and shelving instead of a closet. The TV is huge and really nice, it's easy to access streaming or connect your own device. I especially loved the bathroom, which is fully tiled with a big walk-in shower and a sliding door. My only complaint, and the reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5, was noise. The music from the bar was loud, and even though I was on the 7th floor I could still hear it until after midnight. Probably because my room was at the front of the hotel directly above the lobby, so the music wafted up to the window. The heat/ventilation is also really loud.

This hotel is absolutely mind blowing. I love the aesthetics of it. It is very modern with a unique design. From the suitcase wall to the hidden door to the play area it feels like a great place to getaway from everyday life. To me, it felt like I was at a socialite club. I love that the check in/out is done at the bar It’s very different but it instantly made the staycation feel like a party. The rooms are rather small but that didn’t really matter much to me since we didn’t spend a ton of time there outside of sleeping. The bathroom is gorgeous and super modern. I absolutely loved the wall art in the room and throughout the hotel. Very fun and playful. I love that the bedrooms were equipped with steamers as opposed to the traditional iron. Everything about this hotel screams unique and modern and it was amazing to stay at the very first one in Canada. On top of this, I loved that the price point was affordable despite the elegance and high end feel of the hotel. I’m so excited to booked my next staycation!! Special shout out to Stephen and Kelvin for being so warm and friendly. Stephen was exceptional in relating with us and building rapport. He took the time to listen to a query we had and quickly rectified it, and he did so with the u**ost professionalism… He truly embodied great customer service and that is something I genuinely appreciate. On top of this, he crafted the Moxys House Drink for us which was absolutely breathtaking. It was quite refreshing and made us feel like we were in the tropics rather than cold Canada. Also really appreciated Kelvin who was so kind and offered to grab our bags as we were exiting the hotel. He was nice and friendly and added a special touch to our departure. It may seem rather minuscule but a little goes a long way. Thank you for your kindness and for putting us, as guests, first… you could’ve walked straight past us but you didn’t. Thank you!!

I recently had a great experience staying at this new hotel. The design is modern and practical, every detail is thought out. Starting with the functional reading light and ending with the steam iron in the room. The room is very clean, incredible view of the bridge, huge window. The bar pleased with delicious cocktails. Also delicious food right in the hotel. Elevator as a special kind of art

Excellent staff and service but other things bring it down. No chairs in the room and the table is just a small folding one attached to the wall. No coffee maker or fridge in the room but the coffee in the lobby was great. No extra blankets or pillows. The room was laid out nicely , the bathroom was beautiful and love the walk in shower. I would stay here again but only if I was not planning to spend any time in the room except to sleep. Loved the bar and lobby area. It was so relaxing and laid back.

I was pretty excited to stay at my first Moxy hotel and the first Moxy hotel in Canada this past weekend! I was looking for something different in the hotel experience and it definitely delivered. It's a super trendy, fun, and unique hotel I definitely think you need to give it a chance. I was able to visit the Moxy the second weekend it was open and think I took full advantage of what the hotel has to offer. Checking in at the bar was interesting and immediately we were given two poker chips to redeem for the complimentary signature Moxy drinks. After that, I checked out everything there was to do around the hotel. They had a menu available for food as well as a "Grab and Go" section. There are two sides to the lobby so you are able to grab a seat by the fire and talk, read a book, or just relax, or the other side has a more fun vibe with lots of games like Pac-Man, foosball, Jenga, chess, checkers, Cards Against Humanity, Uno and more along with comfortable seating. When I came back at night, there were quite a few people enjoying the space (both hotel guests and public) along with a DJ, so it was definitely a cool vibe. There is also a secret room with access in the lobby if you can find it that is awesome. There are plenty of local ties hidden into the hotel from the cannon, suitcases used by people immigrating to Canada, shipping containers as a tribute to the Halifax port, the lion in the hotel entry as a tribute to the Nova Scotia flag and I couldn't stop looking and asking about the connections because I thought that aspect was so cool! I also checked out the two conference rooms and it seems like a great space to host an event or meeting. When I first walked in the room, I was surprised at two things: the size of the room and no closet! But after a few minutes, I realized that there were plenty of storage options available to me so nothing was in the way and not having a closet actually allows the shower to be larger, so that was a great tradeoff I would take. In the end, I would rather be out and experiencing the city instead of sitting in a hotel room anyway... that's not travelling in my opinion! It's a great location if you're attending a sports event, concert, or other event at the Scotiabank Centre because you're a short walk away (less than 5 minutes) from the hotel and I checked out a Halifax Thunderbirds NLL game that night and walking there was super easy while my friends went downstairs to hang out in the lobby and probably didn't realized I was gone haha We had a lot of fun at the Moxy Downtown Halifax and look forward to going back!

Reasonable price, clean comfy, and friendly. Good food, too, both at the Moxy and in the neighborhood. The only issue we had was that Uber drivers had trouble finding it/ getting to it because it’s new and it’s pretty much surrounded by construction. NOT the Moxy’s fault.

I'm leaving a 5-star review across the board because the staff were amazing and deserve recognition, but I will leave some suggestions for improving the experience at the Moxy. The hotel is brand-new, so it's obviously ironing out some of the wrinkles. 1) Please put at least 1 chair in each room. There's no space to work if you're there on business, which I was. There was a fold-out desktop space next to the bed, but without a chair, there was simply no way to work effectively from the room. I had to work from bed, which wasn't always ideal. Also, something as silly as putting on your socks and shoes. I literally had to sit on the floor of the hotel room because the bed was too high and there was no chair or any other piece of furniture to sit on. I also couldn't read by the window without a chair, which would have been nice since there was a decent view. 2) Each room needs a safe. When you're carrying a passport, valuables, or confidential work documents, then it's nice to be able to safeguard them when you're out. 3) Please tone down the autotuned club music blasting from the first-floor bar nearly all day long. I get that you need that ambience in the evenings when younger visitors are getting drinks, but the music was playing long before happy hour started, and a lot of the people staying at the hotel were older, so I can't imagine that they were target audience. 4) Please let people use the stairs. Not everyone likes elevators. Minor quibbles; you're off to a good start!

Very small room ,no dresser no night stands, no closet only two small pillows for two people. Water stained concrete ceilings. Only chair in the room was a backless camp chair hanging on the wall. The front desk was the also the bar. The music was so loud we couldn't hear the peson checking us in. Tv in the room only worked part time. Definitely would not recommend this hotel to anyone even the people i don't like 😞

We are two 40 something friends and weren't sure if the Moxy would be a bit too "party" for us as whilst we enjoy a good bar, we also like a good sleep! However, we need not have worried - the room was comfortable, peaceful for sleeping and exactly what we wanted. We had the two Queen beds room, which was very nicely arranged. The lobby/bar area is really stylish and we enjoyed all of the food and drinks we had very much. Staff were great and really helpful. The Moxy is well located for walking to all the main attractions. We were delighted with our choice and would recommend!
