I decided to spend the night in a hotel to break up a long journey home after my train was cancelled, and was very glad I did. The hotel was lovely, really friendly staff, comfortable room with all the usual luxuries (tea and coffee, lots of towels, toiletries, etc.). A particularly useful touch was being able to buy a toothbrush and toothpaste from a vending machine. My room also had a pretty cool view of the area. The buffet breakfast was fantastic, a good variety of breakfast foods, and the cafe also had a great view and lots of device charging points.

Wish we had read reviews before going to stay. Room needs updating and new bathroom suite. Plug got jammed in sink on first evening so my husband had to shave over bath and brush teeth till we could go to reception to report it as there is no phone in bedroom. We were informed that this had happened before so would get it fixed. If happened before should be fixed properly. Room is first door as go through fire door so everyone who went through after us it banged through the night and into the morning disturbing us. There was a commotion on the Friday night with someone being evicted who was housed there from council and only 2 staff members on so couldn’t cope with it which made the duty manager stressed and rather rude when we asked for service at the bar. She later apologised and said they were under staffed and told us all about the eviction. They were evicting a woman on her own with children at 10pm. Breakfast was ok but certainly not like the photos on website, had to ask for cups and more food as not topped up or checked. . Evening meal food tasted good and reasonably priced but only warm when served but we put this down to being short staffed so no one to serve when hot. Whole dining area could do with a good clean as at breakfast there was chips and a piece pizza under tables obviously from evening before. One good thing was a member of staff named Michelle she was so pleasant, helpful and friendly. Even though she was under pressure . So a big well done to Michelle.
