The House by Elegant Hotels - All-Inclusive, Adults Only

My husband and I traveled to Barbados to celebrate a milestone birthday of mine. I am a loyal Marriott fan, so we looked within the properties offered by Marriott and landed on The House by Elegant. It is an all-inclusive, all adult property which seemed to check all the boxes. We had only experienced an all-inclusive once before, but based on the write-up, The House seemed like several notches above our past experience. We were sold! The House made arrangements for airport transfer so getting to the property was a breeze. Once we arrived, we were surprised at how intimate and beautiful the property was. We were upgraded to an Ocean Front Junior Suite, which was the perfect size for us for the week. We did not plan many off-property trips as the main purpose of the trip was to relax, soak up the sun and hear the ocean waves. We were not disappointed. Starting off with a daily champagne breakfast, the meals through the day were ordered off a menu - no buffets!! The drinks were non-stop all day including fresh coconut water straight from the coconut, the weather was perfect despite being rainy season and I even received a complimentary massage. Per my husband's request, the staff planned a special birthday dinner for us under a romantically lit cabana overlooking the ocean. It was perfect! The absolute best thing about the property though besides the view, the beach, the lush vegetation and the comfortable room was the staff. The staff at The House was amazing! They catered to our every whim, nothing was too big or too small for them. A huge shout out to Andrew, Wade. Sheena, Rhea, Patricia, Richard, Sherrie Ann, Rochelle, Denis and many others who made our island vacation the Perfect Getaway. Thank you to all of the staff at The House for making this a memorable and amazing birthday vacation!

I first stayed at the House in 2016 as a half board hotel and it was an incredible experience then so I planned a surprise holiday for my partner’s 60th birthday this May. The key difference is that the House is now all inclusive so it is more expensive at the outset but balanced by no expensive bill at the end of stay. The food is absolutely delicious, really flavourful and with lots of bajan options. Drinks are as standard for all inclusive but there is a champagne breakfast that is very special. I can also recommend the rum punch (very special in Barbados!). The best think about this lovely hotel (right on the beach with a stunning turquoise sea) is its home from home a**osphere, created by the outstanding ambassador team. I haven’t come across staff like this - they go above and beyond to make sure you are looked after - from Kwesi, saying are you sure I can’t get you something when you are sunbathing at the pool - to Andrew bringing treats for me to feed Panda the hotel cat. My partner had a great 60th (wine and cake left in our room). I’m saving to return

Just finished a relaxing week at The House, had such a great vacation. Room was an ocean view suite, spacious, clean and comfortable. Beach was great with excellent snorkelling from shore. Restaurant offered variety of high quality options daily, excellent bar. Management and staff really made the trip, very friendly and genuinely cared about the quality of experience. Facility is starting to show its age, but did not detract from experience and a renovation is coming in September. Thanks for a great vacation.

We have just returned from a third holiday to the House for 12 nights. We had another wonderful holiday from start to finish. The food was excellent, the a**osphere fun and so friendly. The staff make the hotel and the holiday!! Jason the Manager and all of the staff, without exception, make your holiday memorable providing all you need, advice, care, friendship and fun. The Hotel could do with some updating but it certainly does not affect your enjoyment. Thank you everyone and we hope to see you all again next year. Joan and Harry

My husband and I chose this adults only hotel/resort because we were celebrating our one year wedding anniversary along with his birthday. After our experience, I wish we had chosen somewhere else for the money we spent on this 10 day trip. Pros: - the weather is beautiful - the waiting staff/ambassadors are great and always ready to help - the view is gorgeous and the water is crystal clear Cons: - the beach is filled with rocks and the only area with soft sand is where the watersport area docks and we had to keep moving - be ready to be judged by two male bartenders. my husband and i skipped breakfast every morning so we usually came down around 1PM to start our day by having lunch and then going to the beach. one day, around 4PM the bartender told my husband he was cut off (because he thought we were drinking all morning) and had the audacity to call my husband drunk. another day, i ordered a drink and the bartender told me i'm an alcoholic. i have been on a lot of all inclusive vacations and i have never been treated this way. the audacity of these two guys to not care about our feelings or to ruin our vacation and say these things in front of other guests. i was left absolutely disgusted. I would not recommend this hotel/resort.

There were many things that were supposed to be 'included' according to their website that just were not. when we arrived (late flight), we were told there was no food (even though 24/7 food is advertised) so after spending over 1/2 our day on planes and in airports, we couldn't even get a bite to eat when we arrived. The next morning, we slept in (due to our long day traveling the day before) and my wife tried to get some breakfast at 10:30am but was told that breakfast was over and we missed it. she had to fight with several staff just to get a bowl of fruit. The site also advertises 'motorized watercraft' as being included but we found out on-site that we had to pay extra. The location was beautiful and the a**osphere was great, but the offers promoted on their website were not honored.

Service was best the waiters were very friendly and the food was also good. The restaurant is very much elegant from inside and outside . Decoration of table was also very elegant too.good service.
