This was our second stay, and though I don't remember being super impressed last time, we both struggled with poor sleep this time around. We were in the area for All-State Band, so I assume the price of the stay was increased accordingly. Overall the conditions of the facility seemed above average for the area. The biggest problems we had were with our specific room, but due to the age of the facility, there's a fair chance other rooms would have been similar.
In particular, our air unit was EXTREMELY LOUD. Not only was it just loud while the fan was running, but something would rattle or crackle loudly while the heat was on. When we first heard it, we legitimately thought it was the sound of a fire crackling inside the unit. The sound of the unit cycling on and off throughout the night woke us up every single time.
As the morning came, we could hear the constant whirring of the elevators even though we were a few rooms away. This led me to believe it was just a resonant frequency that was likely heard through most of the rooms. It wouldn't have been as big of an issue had we not already been kept awake by our air unit.
Finally, for a place known for its natural hot spring water, the standing shower had dreadfully low water pressure. It would have been fine if we could run a bath, but in spite of a shower head that looked to be clean and in good condition, we had to dance around to get completely wet, much less wash the soap from our hair or bodies.
