巴仁飯店-休憩處(Hotel Baren - the Place to Rest)

LOVE the Baren Hotel! From check in to check out… easy. Friendly, accommodating and a perfect location. Few steps away from the train station in a more quieter part of Wengen. From our balcony we watched the cows walk through town and enjoyed the valley overlooking Lauterbrunnen. The restaurant is fantastic! Breakfast in the morning was yummy! Loved the eggs, fresh sourdough bread, homemade jam, bacon…… coffee! Dinner delicious! We tried something different each night and loved each one. Make sure you book your time and eat here every night. Staff amazing! Helpful, kind and courteous… Thank you Sarah for making us feel at home. All the staff…. Ty. We just finished our sandwiches to go for our next Switzerland stop. We appreciate the kindness, very delicious! Good bye Baren! Until next time….

This is a lovely hotel. It is walking distance from the station. The bedrooms are utilitarian and very comfortable. Ours had a balcony overlooking the mountains. The breakfasts are the best ever: homemade jams and juices; delicious choice of cheese, yoghurt, fruits, dried fruits, cereals and seeds, four or five different home baked breads, salmon, eggs, bacon. The food in the evening is delicious. The staff are extremely helpful and kind. The service is excellent. We return year after year. I don't think there is a better hotel in Wengen.

Das Hotel ist familiär und persönlich geführt, bietet viel Komfort und liegt in kurzer Fusswegdistanz zum Dorfzentrum und zum Bahnhof. Das Personal ist hilfsbereit und geht auf spezielle Wünsche ein. Das Morgenbüffet ist sehr vielfältig und reichhaltig. Das Restaurant bietet eine schöne Auswahl an Gerichten, die Qualität des Essens ist ausgezeichnet.

A wonderful hotel with friendly staff and great food. After experiencing very nice dinners here last winter, we decided to stay in the hotel for five nights this time with half-board. The food did not disappoint and the service was exceptional from the friendly and chatty staff. The room was nice with beautiful views of the mountains. The hotel is a short downhill walk from the station but can be easily managed if you do not have too much luggage.

We had a wonderful 5 night stay at this lovely hotel. Staff all friendly and the restaurant food is fantastic. There is a snug area for pre dinner drinks, the food at breakfast is tasty and extensive but it’s the evening meals which really are top notch. If I had any suggestions for improvements it would be to offer free tap water with meals, especially to accompany wine at 40 to 50 CHF a bottle (additional 8CHF for tap water rather expensive). Also would be nice if the tea/coffee sachets in the bedroom were topped up after use ( by day 5 very little choice!)

Das Hotel ist vom Bahnhof gut zu Fuss erreichbar. Wir wurden sehr freundlich im Hotel begrüsst. Das Zimmer war sauber und zweckmässig eingerichtet. Der Höhepunkt war das Nachtessen im hoteleigenen Restaurant welches wir sehr genossen haben. Auch das Frühstück bot alles, was man sich wünscht. Es ist sehr weiter zu empfehlen!

Tolles Hotel, sehr schöne, ruhige Lage mit super Aussicht auf die Bergwelt und grossem Balkon. Feines Essen, guter Wein, freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Gemütliche Einrichtung mit guten Matratzen. Jederzeit gerne wieder! Dankeschön

Myself and group were well looked after during out stay. The Baren has very high standards. We were made to feel like part of the family, its so nice to see the same staff year after year. By far the best place to eat and stay in Wengen. Looking forward to our return.
