瑞安法城堡飯店(Chateau Rhianfa)

Filthy top of wardrobe and bed head. only 4 coat hangers no where to put clothes drawers too small. No where to put toiletries in shabby bathroom. Asked for bacon and tomatoes for breakfast as can’t eat eggs got given 1 piece of toast 2 little pieces of bacon and half a tomato.lovely staff but place needs talc. Cup makes on furniture but asked for mats didn’t have any,NOT WORTH £200 a night

The setting was excellent with views across the Menai Straits and well kept gardens. The staff were helpful and understanding. The website depicts well maintained spacious rooms with character. Unfortunately ours was a small box room with not enough room to put our suitcase s. For around £200 a night we were very disappointed. We suggest customers check which room they are being allocated before booking! It’s a shame as the hotel has lots to offer.

Loved the property and the great views of the Straights and the mountains ,the only thing we were unhappy about was the very uneven ground for parking ,and also the problems with the lift ,as some one who has walking difficulty ,stairs and uneven ground is a big no no, if it wasn't for the really helpful staff we would have gone elsewhere, so unless you have the Genes of a mountain goat you should avoid the place

Amazing location and building full of history and opulent suites with amazing views of Menai. Amazing suite which was wonderful and clean. They did struggle at times with service and items being available. The staff where friendly and helpful, overall would stay again.

Mouldy bathroom and shower tray needed replacing. Poor quality Furniture in the bedroom. Did not justify the price for the room

Don’t waste your money staying here. At the most pop in for a meal and walk the grounds. Noisy, wore out, overpriced.

The actual building and gardens of this hotel are beautiful but whilst the property was clean and the staff very friendly, the property needs more TLC generally. The rooms in the public area are magnificent in principle and should have had a wow factor but small details set the tone - for example in the dining room for example a lamp bulb on the wall was noticeably missing. We may have been unlucky with our bedroom which was a double sea view in the basement but it bore little resemblance to those depicted on the website and was at best functional but drab. As to the meals, at dinner our starters were fine though expensive. However for our main courses, my wife and I chose different options from the very limited menu and both were barely edible. The total cost of the meal was higher than the superb fare offered at the 5-star hotel we stayed in the following night. After reading reviews of the Full Welsh breakfast we chose the safer Eggs Royale option. The hotel had run out of crumpets so offered toast instead then smothered the eggs and salmon with something that resembled Sauce Hollandaise but definitely didn’t taste like it! Overall this hotel which which located in a stunning position could be a classic if much needed refurbishment was applied and they sort out their problems in the kitchen!

I tried to cancel or change my booking 36 hours beforehand and the staff were very unhelpful. IT was a shame because we would have loved to stay another time and now we won't do so.
