DEM飯店(Dem Hotel)

Horrible experience at the DEM Hotel. I have never in all my years experienced such rudeness and disrespect. It started when we arrived. You have to go quite a ways to get to the hotel on foot because it is a pedestrian only zone. My wife can't walk very far due to a back problem, so we got the host to come out to get some of our luggage. But he would not hold his speed down to what my wife could keep up with, essentially forcing me to separate from my wife or my luggage on a foreign city. Their description says that the rooms are accessible by elevator, but you have to go up a flight of steps to get to the elevator. Once we checked in the host disappeared and wasn't seen again. They say they have refrigerators in the room, but it is only a drink cooler that barely cooled at all. When I reported it that it was not working well, all they responded was"checking..." and nothing else via the *********** messaging system. Then we found out that the bed had crumbs and hair under the cover, they obviously had not changed the sheets. When I messaged them about that they just responded "impossible" with no offer to change them. When I tried calling the hotel listed number they just hung up. There was additional bedding in the closet, but that also was dirty. And one of the pillows had residue from since liquid on it. We checked out in the morning, but they refused to refund any of my two paid weeks.

Very comfortable, staff friendly, small hotel (one floor - 10 -15 room - not sure exactly) located 5 min walk from Yaffa gate of Old City. Very convenient for self-exploring Old City, convenient public transportation from Jerusalem Central bus and train station. Clean and convenient. Area around hotel feel safe. But in a last day of our stay (4-24-2023) terror attacks happened 300 m ahead of us when we walk on the street to Mahaneh Yeguda Market.

Piccolo albergo al terzo piano dello stabile, dieci camere, noi con il nostro gruppo ne abbiamo occupate otto. Ovviamente non tutte della stessa dimensione ma anche le più piccole erano sufficientemente comode. L'hotel non offre colazione ma ha un angolo comune dove poter prendere gratis caffè e bevande calde. La gestione è italiana e la cosa ci ha fatto molto piacere. Alfi, il figlio della padrona, è stato molto gentile al nostro arrivo in hotel ed è sempre stato molto presente con i nostri contatti precedenti via WhatsApp. Il punto forte dell'hotel è comunque la posizione che permette di girare Gerusalemme senza utilizzare mezzi pubblici, essendo equidistante tra la città vecchia ed il mercato coperto. Nella zona parecchi ristoranti e locali.

Il DEM si trova su una delle strade principali di Gerusalemme posizione strategica per visitare la città sia per quanto riguarda la zona moderna che per raggiungere la città vecchia a piedi. La sorpresa che abbiamo ricevuto è stata la proprietaria ed il figlio italiani quindi prodighi di consigli, gentilissimi e disponibili sempre. Li ringraziamo nuovamente.

First of all, it's not actually a hotel, but a single floor in a building with a few rooms. The cleanliness is not great- the bed sheets had stains, the shower was not properly maintained- sealing rubber was loose, the sink tap was leaking, there was a crack in sink, the decorative tin tables had stains and looked very old. The noise from outside can be heard very clearly so that might be an issue for light-sleepers. We got in very late and I was told there is a reception 24 hours, but instead the key was waiting for us near the room, and the door was unlocked (but closed) so we didn't see anyone in check in. The location is very convenient and the size of the room is ok for a couple.

I think it was a good hotel in the city centre of West-Jerusalem. Its a bit cheap (118 EUR/2 nights) which makes that you have sometimes some inconvenience from loud construction noises outside, and the reception after evening Is closed, so it was autonomous self-check in which was practical trough whatsapp/email. Overall, proper experience for a budget hotel.

Veramente una scoperta piacevole per questo hotel. I proprietari, italiani, sanno aiutarti in qualsiasi modo. La camera è giusta per le esigenze che servono quando sei in viaggio. Una camera abbastanza grande come anche il bagno. Hanno addirittura un piccolo cucinotto con lavandino per preparare qualsiasi cosa per mangiare. Vicino al centro storico, nella parte nuova di Gerusalemme servita da qualsiasi negozio. Dalla stazione centrale sono 3/ fermate di tram mentre a piedi non si impiega più di 30 minuti. Alla porta di jaffa si arriva in 10 minuti o con una fermata di tram. Sicuramente torneremo a soggiornare il questo hotel perché Gerusalemme bisogna visitarla più di una volta. Hotel carino e curato oltre che pulito, gestito da italiani cordiali e disponibili. Ottima la posizione anche per visitare la Città vecchia e il mercato e vicino ai servizi più comuni. Lo consiglio assolutamente.
