It was outrageous! From the surly maids to the indifferent desk staff to the horrible pillow-top bed and beyond, it was like a four day stay in hell.
When I had to deal with noisy athletes in the hall instead of the desk, it was me, a 70 year old disabled woman facing off with three large, young male football player types. You know who won? I did, because I just went out there and stood in the middle of them without a word. But should I have to do that? NO! You should have come up.
As to the bed, I couldn't turn over unless I got up. I felt like beetle on its back with its legs in the air. It was as comfortable as drowning.
The maids were so surly that, for the first time in my life, I didn't leave a tip. First I was told I wasn't on the list at all, then I had an full cleaning, and then they wouldn't come back until I asked the desk. Desk said they could only do trash and towels, or a full cleaning INCLUDING changing the beds. this is a false dichotomy. There are many options on this continuum, from nothing to everything. You couldn't do sweep, trash and towels? They couldn't leave toilet paper? First time they came, I had to stop them from changing the beds after ONE night! You let us keep the towels but not the bedding? This is wasteful, back-breaking labor.
I ordered once from room service. I didn't like the dry, overcooked tasteless sandwich. After that I brought back Subway.
I would rather have both slept and at Subway..
Edoardo got the only tip. Ask him why.
