Hotel confortável, limpo e acolhedor. Área envolvente verde com aves, primatas e esquilos, muito bonita, natural e relaxante. Excelente atendimento dos funcionários e do dono. Comida vegetariana muito boa e bons pequenos almoços com cozinha típica do srilanka. Os safaris organizados pelo Muna foram excelentes e o pequeno almoço e almoço servidos junto ao rio dentro do PN de yala foram a cereja no topo do bolo.

Absolutely in love with this place, beautiful decoration. Gem river is a dream place were we can easy feel like home. The staff and the owners were friendly and so kind. Highly recommended if you want to feel in peace in the middle of nature. The most amazing think about this place is that all was built with love and with respect by nature, in sustainable way. Also Muna has a great talent to work with the wood, making a beautiful and inspired handy work. The food is also super tasty. If you are looking for a cozy and stunning place, absolutely you don't want to miss the Gem River Edge!

Place itself is real gem. Perfectly blended with the nature and the jungle but at the same time very extraordinary. Here it's like a getaway from outside world to calm, find connection with nature and peace within. Waking up to a bird alarm, having morning bath in the Gem river, seeing wildlife all around and just enjoying..What else you need? So much love Mona put into this place you can feel that all over. And the fooood. Wow. One of the best Sri Lankan cuisines I've eaten in the country. Best Coffee there for sure. Thank You for everything, see you soon!

Relaxing eco lodge set close to Kataragama’s famous temples but remains secluded with access to the river. The hosts and food was great but the highlight was the safari. Very well organised, we saw the elephants, leopard, wild bore, different types of birds etc. And had an amazing breakfast served on the beach. Would highly recommend!

We absolutely loved our stay at Gem River Edge. The accommodation is beautifully designed and constructed to incorporate and blend perfectly with the forest and natural surroundings. After a day of exploring or safari, you can relax and unwind in the refreshing Gem River, safe and fun for the kids too- my son would have been happy in there all day. The kitchen provided some of the best rice and curry we have ever had, vegetarian, homegrown and organic- the jack fruit curry is not to be missed. A true paradise for nature lovers!

Wonderful 2 nights at Gem River for my family of 4! It’s a peaceful, rustic eco lodge with freshly made organic vegetarian meals. The owner was our full day safari guide where we saw amazing wildlife.

Beautiful Eco lodge in the middle of nature. Our host Muna was amazing! We arrived and he gave us a tour of the facilities all the way to the river that runs nearby. We had a lovely vegetarian meal before going to our rooms as we had a very early start for a safari the next day. The rooms are basic but very comfortable and clean. In the morning before leaving for the safari we were served coffee at 5am! Then we hopped into the jeep and off we went! Our guide was incredible at spotting animals and birds. He was super friendly and patient and the jeep (to my huge surprise) was very comfortable! We were very fortunate to spot 2 leopards within 5 minutes of entering the park. We did a half day safari which was incredible. Then returned to the lodge for a wonderful vegetarian lunch. Absolutely loved it. It was so peaceful and beautiful. A place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Gem river is the most beautiful and peaceful place we have in been in Sri Lanka. We felt immediately at home and decided to stop for two nights instead of only one. We spent lovely time with Muna and Kelum during the safari and at the lodge. We enjoyed delicious Ayurvedic recipes with fresh and locally sourced produces. We could borrow the scooter to visit Kataragama and they also drove us to the bus station after our check out. I’d love to go back one day ♥️ Ayubowan Gem River!
