珠峰飯店(The Everest Hotel)

Nice Old Hotel, Great Staff with few needs to improve. Swimming pool is totally disappointment. Better to shut down, than keep running and not swimmable, waist of energy. The water is dirty, no star at all. The lobby, the room and Ghurka bar are still great. 2 power shutdowns in 1 day, I believe they are struggling with power shortages due to dark lounges. Breakfast was so so, coffee or tea should be not a challenge to serve first, sometimes took half of meal before they come. Many Tables are not stable and aligned, egg can easily roll over to other side. Atleast 3 tables on my experience. Room is comfortable, nice bed and always fresh linen. Only noisy from AC , maintenance team came twice on my room to fix, though transfer was offered on my last 2 days. Managers should not standing in buffet line, either they should help the line staffs or directing the team, talking business in public is not of our guests concern. Front desk Trainee, has good presence, I thought first he is manager. A lot can be improved and polished, the hotel has a great potential, nice design, great facilities and great staffs. I wish that management should look all themselves and review those small details.

Front counter staff members are friendly, helpful and cooperative particularly Avishek (if I remember correctly his name) was fantastic and exceptional customer service. I should mention Salim who cleaned our room was very very polite, friendly and helpful. The room is big but the down size is the shower over bath. Bath tub is tiny and water does not go down to the drainage pipe caused water clogged. The breakfast items were limited and does not reflect five star standard. However the General Manger should look the breakfast menu by himself and should take appropriate action.

No value for money

We stayed in the Everest Hotel, Kathmandu. The hotel was elegant, with pleasant staff. The food was excellent. The front desk clerks and the cafe staff were very helpful and courteous. The bar tender, Mr Ganesh, was very friendly and made excellent drinks explaining the story behind each of the classical drinks of Nepal. The rooms were spacious with good amenities. It was less expensive and a great place to stay. We will stay here again and recommend to anyone visiting Kathmandu.

It is very convenient for a business traveller like me. Everything is just right as one expects things to be. What I like the best about is the team at the breakfast lounge makes you feel at home. They remember your preference of food and beverage, your favourite seat at the breakfast place. Also they are always around for making sure you get what you want. I travel mostly on business needs and don't have much free time at the hotels, but these few minutes at breakfast makes my day.

We stayed at The Everest at the beginning of our trip to Nepal. We loved it so much we rebooked for the end of our trip also. The customer service was amazing. Everyone we dealt with was helpful and cheerful. Special mention to Mr Pramod the restaurant manager as well as Miss Radhika and Mr Sushan for making us feel at home.
