薩魯特飯店(Salute Hotel)

Op zich was het hotel niet slecht. Ik had voor 5 dagen geboekt. ‘Het uitzicht was zo mooi’ en ‘de ligging’ zo goed, had ik gelezen. Toen we aankwamen moest ik gelijk voor 5 nachten betalen, wat ik niet gewend ben. Want hoe is de kamer, de service, het ontbijt enz. Ik heb betaald. We kregen een kamer aan de achterkant. De schaduwkant. Daar moet je niet willen zitten. Bovendien stonk het naar de vloerbedekking! Je rook het al als je de lift uitkwam. Nog 4 nachten deze kamer? De volgende dag vroeg ik een kamer aan de voorkant met het uitzicht op het klooster. Er werd wat moeilijk gedaan maar het lukte toch. Een veel betere kamer kregen we met mooi uitzicht en zon. Bovendien een houten vloer. We waren tevreden. MAAR: vanochtend met het uitchecken en terugbrengen van de deurpassen kregen we ineens een extra rekening voor het ruïneren van een handdoek. Wat? Jaa, er zat een vlek in de handdoek. We kregen een rekening van 600 krivna’s, omgerekend €20 Ik vroeg nog of de handdoek van ‘silk’ was, maar nee, Betalen. Jammer.

Stayed here simply as I'd always seen the building and wanted the retro experience! I couldn't make my initial night, so emailed and called to rearrange (with no reply!). Although when I walked past the hotel two days later, the receptionists were very forgiving and took pity on this poor Brit - Booking me in for a few days time instead. Suggest that the management ensure email and phones are replied to! The hotel itself is fun - Try running down the 'stairs' to reception instead of the lift. You'll be dizzy before hitting ground level. Quite something after a few pints! The rooms are pleasant enough, clean and modern. Very clean. AC is powerful and effective although quite noisy. My room overlooked the pioneers palace and wasn't so great for views - So I'd recommend overlooking the park instead. Modern city planners have ruined the views by building a massive apartment block to the north. No breakfast supplied (nor available, it would seem!) - This is unusual for a larger Kiev hotel, so perhaps a result of lower numbers in the pandemic? Price needs to be lower for this omission. Reception seemed to be in power-saving mode, as all the lights were permanently off and even the poor receptionists were sat next to a three-bar to keep warm. Bit of a creepy welcome, frankly. Better option is the Hotel Ukraine on Maidan. Not much retro/interesting left at this establishment!

The staff are great, I forgot my wallet in the room and Andrea found it and the room is very clean and good size

Kinda USSR design style which I really like, amazing view from every room, nice service, pretty clean

Hotel is so old (by the way they are proud of it everywhere you can see the photos hanged on the wall) but very clean and the staffs are very kind. I didn’t have breakfast there. The only thing made me so annoyed is the hotel located on a hill. So if you want to explore the city by foot, you will get tired so so much.

Great views and location 10/10 in the center of Kiev with parking adjacent. The combo price / offering is superb. I will definitely stay again. Staff speaks english. Interior is a bit outdated but that is compensated by the price. I will recommend and I will stay again. Get the enhanced view rooms due to better quality of bed and bedding. Love it

This is a test center. They will let you in on the only floor 107... Or the 100's. They do not have legit receptionists and there is a black cracked door at the end. The walls are hollow at the head where you sleep. CIA BLACK SITE AVOID.
