基加利塞麗娜飯店(Kigali Serena Hotel)

My first time around in Kigali 15 years ago. On recommendations from friends, I decided to stay at Serena. Since that the food and the quality of services has never failed me. But even more important is the atmosphere; this is the 5 star hotel which in every corner reflects the beauty of Africa. The colours, the materials, the cultural artworks and the coziness - it feels like home. And the staff, the genuinely friendly smiles, makes the stay even more comfortable.

Ein Hotel im Stil der 70er/80er Jahre, man glaubt Idi Amin mit seiner Entourage betritt jederzeit das Hotel. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Das Essen ist klassisch Buffet und auch im a La carte -Restaurant in oft sehr indisch angehaucht. Leider kommt hier die ruandische lokale Küche ein wenig zu kurz. Die Zimmer sind ein wenig altbacken und in die Jahre gekommen.

Impressive from the moment you enter the lobby. Architecture and design are wonderful. Highly secure feeling from entry on. Centrally located for business. Restaurant and staff all very nice. Great housekeeping nicely appointed room.

Dated, old, not even close to a 5 star hotel.

It's always a treat to stay at the splendid Kigali Serena Hotel. I loved my interactions with all the staff there. Precious, the smiling breakfast chef, made me a fabulous omelette. At lunchtime, she enjoyed introducing me to various African foods that I wasn't familiar with. Rhoda, Sandra and Ines pampered me back to life in the Serena Hotel's Maisha Spa after a long overnight flight. Everyone commented how happy and relaxed I looked after my two night stay (and 4 hours of massages!) If you want company / or directions on a morning run, call reception the night before: Karim from the Maisha Spa gym met me and three other guests at 6.30am for an hour's run around Kigali before breakfast. You'll need it - the breakfast spread is vast! It's hard to resist the superb croissants, 6+ types of fresh juice, and of course the hot dishes.

Wonderful stay. The rooms were very beautiful and spacious. The bathroom has very good amenities and the hotel pays attention to the environment. The bed was so comfortable and many services are available such as room service, etc. Wifi is perfect, no issues. The hotel has a very nice swimming, pool, spa, Gym, etc. The breakfast was exceptional, with wonderful, good, fresh fruit, and everything you wanted. I also booked a massage at the spa, which was perfect. The prices are also good. The spa reservation was punctual and very good and relaxing. The amenities were well maintained.
