Pier 5 Hotel Baltimore

First thing when we checked in was the long wait to do so. There was only one person at the counter at the time who was also a new employee so it took a little while. After finally checking in, we were told our room wasn't ready yet. We waited in the lobby and kind of relaxed a bit. When we were notified that the room was ready, we took all our stuff up only to find out that we were given the wrong room. We were supposed to have two Queen Beds for the three of us but were given one with no sofa option. We went back down to the desk, spoke with someone else and were given a different room. However they only had one Queen Bed available and a pull out sofa. The sofa was so bad that we ordered a roll in bed. Needless to say, we weren't happy but had no choice. The room itself was so dirty. The carpet was stained, dust where there shouldn't have been dust and a not so sanitary bathroom. Luckily we were only there for the night. They offered us a "free" appetizer at one of their on site restaurants however the price of the rest of the menu was so pricey. We found somewhere offsite to have a nice dinner and pay half the price. It was so disappointing that our "Girls Trip" Vacation started off this way. I would definitely NOT recommend this hotel to anyone.

This is a nice, no-frills hotel for short stays. It is perfectly placed within the inner harbor area, everything is an easy walk away. Our room was on the 3rd floor, facing the aquarium. We could watch the dolphins being fed and doing tricks, the kids loved it. The room was dated, needed some upkeep, but very clean. Check-in and check out were fast, the staff were all very nice during the whole stay. Bring your earplugs if you’re a light sleeper, you can hear everything unfortunately. There was a wedding downstairs that was very loud, though it ended at a decent hour.

First off, breakfast was not complimentary. That should definitely be mentioned at checkin. Also, $15 for that breakfast is ridiculous. Second, sliding glass door to the balcony was missing a window pane. It let in a ton of street noise until 3am. The missing window pane seemed to be broken and they chipped away at the edges to make it look like “normal”. Broken glass is very sharp, and this is very dangerous for anyone. See photos. This was all mentioned to front desk staff. Overall, not worth the price point. Not entirely sure why it was highly rated.

Our stay was very comfortable and the staff was friendly. My only concern was that there were three of us and there was hardly any place to hang our towels.

Personally would not stay here again. The lobby was nice, looked like a newer, higher end hotel. The staff was very nice. Parking situation was iffy- you can either pay $35 a night plus a $70 insurance fee(that you get refunded if you don’t used their parking) OR park in the parking garage across the street for $30 a day. There were not stairs to the third level which is where we stayed, so that was a little concerning for safety reasons. The hotel does have a conforming security system where you have to use your room key to use the elevator. Once we arrived to our room, there was a bunch of water damage on the walls, holes in the walls, the carpet didn’t cover the whole floor, the doorframe to our “balcony” was taped up with painters tape, the tub drain was dirty and unappealing, our sink and shower water was warm but it didn’t get anywhere near hot. Very upset with the condition of the room with how much we paid!! **Pictures attached**

Front desk staff & service was outstanding. But my wife was uncomfortable with the hotel location and the number of homeless in sleeping bags outside the property. We checked-in, but did not stay. The room is still untouched. We stayed at the Marriott across the water two blocks over, across the water.

Was a bit concerned after seeing several negative reviews of the property but was pleasantly surprised. Yes, the decor may be outdated but the rooms were very comfortable and clean. Staff was excellent. I would definitely stay here again.

Hotel stay was ok, lack of communication from front desk staff member caused us to have to pay significant fees in parking. Hotel room was ok, little more outdated than it appears online.

Jacuzzi tub had a rag in it so we didn’t know if it had been cleaned or not. The balcony view was horrible. However, the hotel is in a good location.
