米切爾草原度假村(Mitchell Grass Retreat)

Fantastic glamping resort!! Our experience started with Tanya calling and emailing us to discuss our upcoming visit thereby ensuring we had tickets to the QANTAS Founders Museum and the Cattleman’s Hall of Fame. Tanya also organised 2 BBQ packs so we could enjoy time at the resort. At check-in Kristina told us about the courtesy bus to and from restaurants in town so we could have a drink and not drive. The fire pit was laid each day and we enjoyed evenings under the stars whilst toasting marshmallows - brilliant. The tent itself is very well designed, the bed comfortable, the shower had strong pressure and the cutlery & crockery were good quality, the pool was clean and inviting. The continental breakfasts were varied and had obviously been lovingly prepared. We highly recommend Mitchell Grass as the place to stay when visiting Longreach.

A wonderful outback adventure! It was a wonderful escape and so glamporous! This was amazing value and so wonderful to experience outback Australia in this comfort level! Everything was perfect! A great jumping off spot for countless adventures in a very special part of Australia. Congrats to Mitchell Grass Resort for all their awards . They deserve them!

Wow, what a lovely place to stay, and Brett and Katrina make it seem so special. We stayed two nights and it wasn’t enough, we were welcomed with port and marshmallows for the fire. The pool was perfect for a dip after sightseeing, and my son loved the communal kitchen to go and hide! Katrina made the most amazing breakfast that we ate in the deck. And Brett lit the fire for us. Highly recommend this lovely place…and you can spend hours looking up at the stars away from light pollution.

We had a wonderful experience staying at the Mitchell Grass Retreat. David the owner and Brett and Katrina, the managers were amazing hosts. It was such a beautiful set up, with the glamping tent and the area. You had a choice of your own fire pit or catch up with other travelers around the communal one. Sit back on your own deck and watch the kangaroos graze and the sun set. The site is about a 5 minute drive out of town, but the peace and quiet was worth it. The tents have everything and were very comfortable. There was no TV, but with the scenery, refreshing pool and starry nights it was lovely not to have one. Would highly recommend this place.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mitchell Grass Retreat. We had an idea that it was going to be great when we received a phone call from David on check in day asking eta of arrival so he could meet us - what other accommodation venue does that! Our glamping accommodation turned out be spotlessly clean, beautifully appointed, and the bed unbelievably comfortable, and massive! At night we had firewood provided in our own private pit so we could spend the night stargazing - just WOW! Close to town for everything a couple needs and the Longreach tourist hot spots. The Longreach folk are pretty amazing too - country people are the friendliest people on our planet! Make sure you take a dip in the pool at Mitchell Grass retreat - the best place to relax, cool down and unwind! Stayed a few nights for our 6 th wedding anniversary. We both was blown away by the size of the glamming tent has amazing kitchen and bathroom most comfortable king bed amazing sunsets from the deck which has bbq and table. Breakfast pack are great 4 min drive to town roast marshmallows from ur own fire. Recommend it highly

Absolutely amazing place to stay. We stayed for 2 nights but wished it was longer. Attention to detail is second to none. Katrina and Brett are friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast basket and BBQ pack were generous and utterly delicious. Most definitely will be returning

Mitchell Grass Retreat is nothing short of relaxing from the moment you arrive. The wide open bushland of Longreach with spectacular front row view of an outback sunset that then turns into a clear night sky for star gazing and toasting marshmallows by the fire pit. The rooms are equipped with all you need and more, the owners have really spoilt the guests with bath salts, local soaps along with the his and her robes, chocolates and port and not to mention the beautiful breakfast hamper delivered to the room. Our plan was to stay 1 night but we were so impressed we decided to stay an extra night before continuing on with our travels.
