In cerca di una colazione internazionale, abbiamo approfittato del bel bar al piano terra dell’hotel aperto anche agli esterni. Servizio impeccabile, location straordinaria davanti al teatro del giglio, buffet dolce e salato buonissimo. Un plauso al personale davvero gentile. Costo: 15 euro colazione continentale comprese bevande calde e fredde, 30 il buffet completo. Davvero onesti!

Spectacular hotel in Lucca in every way. Location is perfect, rooms and hotel are beautiful, beds feel like heaven and the staff is amazing. This is our second stay (first we stayed for 7 days 2021, this stay is 5 days 2023) and we don’t want to leave. Christmas time is magical and we prefer Lucca over Florence as our go to vacation to experience life and the holidays in Italy. We cant wait to return to this beautiful city and hotel. Thank you Grand Universe for making our stay so wonderful. ♥️🇮🇹

This hotel is smack in the old town of Lucca within the city walls so perfect location except if driving then it requires a minor inconvenience to park considerably away from the hotel and then walk back. Normally such hotels in Europe are Relais & Chateaux, LHW, SLH, or at best Design Hotel, but I find there are more and more Autograph Hotels joining Bonvoy which are of that style so it's even better than these other brands due to elite benefits available at Autograph. Grand Universe Hotel joined Bonvoy two years ago, fully renovated historical building; I intended to stay here on a road trip as I had this hotel on my target list for quite a while. I was upgraded as Marriott Ambassador Elite to a junior suite which is a corner room and simply more spacious. The quality of the room was excellent and can approach Luxury Collection standards in some ways. Breakfast was ok but not the highlight of the stay especially considering it’s Italy after all. No Prosecco and no a la carte menu. In destinations with a lack of hotel chains I am quite lenient in judging hotels but in this case the hotel was very good in its own right so if staying in this area I think this one is a slam dunk.

I am a Marriott loyalist and love the Autograph brand. Unfortunately, because temperatures during our stay were higher than normal. sewer gas pervaded the hallways on the floor we initially stayed in and the floor to which we were moved. Despite the best efforts of the staff to be accommodating, this ruined our stay and an otherwise lovely hotel. I would not stay here in the summertime.

Hôtel exceptionnellement bien situé. Vous laissez vos valises et puis vous partez à la découverte ce cette très belle ville. Situé sur une des places, l'hôtel jouit d'une vue incroyable. Au niveau des prestations de l'hôtel, parle français de suite, super acceuil. Les chambres sont petites mais on le savait donc pas de surprises..... Pour le reste à recommander ... Magnifique machine à café au bar du petit déjeuner que l'on peut prendre dehors, réel plus. A recommander sûrement !!!

L’hotel è’ stato completamente rinnovato. Lo stile è’ internazionale/ americano essendo parte della catena Marriott.. manca il tocco italiano. I prezzi sono elevati non essendo un 5 stelle, sia per le camere, sia per la colazione e il ristorante. La clientela è’ infatti di soli stranieri. Il servizio al check in e al ristorante è’ stato molto buono. Ottima ubicazione è sicuramente il miglior hotel in città al momento, ma spostandosi più in campagna ci sono resorts a 5 stelle con Spa che offrono molto di più anche a prezzo minore.

Recensisco il bar all’ultimo piano e il ristorante dopo essere stato all’universo alcune volte in autunno e in primavera. Location top ed arredi adeguati. Purtroppo alla forma non si accompagna la sostanza che si pretende da una struttura di livello. Pranzo di qualità appena sufficiente servito in un bel salotto, ma basta andare in toilette per capire che qualcosa non va…. Recentemente ho consumato un aperitivo in terrazza che null’altro è che un piccolo spazio sul tetto. Mi hanno fatto accomodare su uno scomodo sgabello.. la chiamano champagneria ma Non c’è un barman (!!) . Cocktail mediocre accompagnato da banali noccioline e Olive pagato €30,00. Professionalità ….questa sconosciuta……..
