馬爾科尼小屋(Lodge at Marconi)

Really a beautiful property with a gorgeous view. Just the necessities and the WiFi was good. The trails around the property were really promising, but they were all closed with danger tape - but we did see a jackrabbit! The staff person at check-in, had a loud aggressively barking dog near behind the counter that scared my son, my son asked, is your dog nice? And the staff member replied, as long as they are behind this gate. The next morning as we were leaving, the dog was off-leash outside with the staff person drinking coffee, and the dog ran up to my son (who was even more terrified now after the response at check-in) as my son was getting into the car and he quickly jumped inside and had to close the door quickly to get safely inside. The staff member was blocking the walkway to the door where the return key box hangs with their dog when this occurred. This is the epitome of poor dog etiquette and ultimately the reason we will never stay at Marconi again.

The grounds are beautiful and the check in staff was nice. We booked a queen room. The bed was a full/double sized and the mattress was so hard we might as well have slept on the ground. Also our tub was missing the stopper. Hot water comes on in a drizzle but cold water comes full blast. It was definitely an interesting experience.

The bad 1.no snacks or any food for sale despite long distance to nearest market or restaurant 2. Thin walls between rooms 3. No piece of paper describing history of hotel and property and or nearest amenities The good Such beautiful surroundings, very nice front desk staff, great walks on property.

The property is really nice, but I cannot recommend the single rooms. Mine was dark and pretty dated. Also the ice machine on the outside made a lot of noise, so I could not really enjoy the quiet surroundings. At least the room was clean and the staff very friendly.

You can’t beat staying on Hwy 1 across from the Bay. No TV, deep quiet, clean air….restored. A conference center, but no conference running. We had the place to ourselves!

Showed up at 8 pm and no one was working the front desk, no one would answer the phone, couldn’t connect to the GM.

Exceptional in every way. Highly recommend if seeking peace and relaxation in a stunning setting.

The new owners have done an excellent job restoring this historic site elevating it to a high level of service and making the price in 2024 more than reasonable. The expansive site is very quiet, remote, and walking paths are teaming with local wildlife as well as markers of the past such as the anchor blocks for old Marconi era antennae. Yes, they are working on a dining option, but there are some really interesting seaside options in the area including Nick's Cove and the Marshall Store. We also did not encounter any dogs, but it's true there are no elevators.

Really nice property with quiet and nicely appointed rooms. Staff very helpful. A great stay…would have given 5 stars but there is limited onsite food options and had to settle for $30 cheese box (with no crackers!).
