史提芬斯港汽車旅館(Port Stephens Motel)

Bed was horrible. You could feel every spring digging into your back. A 20 yr old mattress on timber slats. We pre-paid but they demanded a $100 deposit on arrival for potential damages which would be refunded in 5 business days if they approve of the way the room was left. I was amazed. I travel for work and have never experienced this before. Sometimes $1. Rude staff and prehistoric amenities. Don't do it... spend the extra $20 per night to go somewhere much nicer

I hate to be critical of a small business but Room 1 was pretty bad as far as motel accommodation goes. An indication is how do you turn on the light switch - you slip your hand between the built in cupboard and the wall to locate the switch. The smell was quite strong - maybe there were smokers previously, but it was pungent all night. The room is in need of an upgrade.

Very basic room for the price but comfortable bed. Convenient keypad access. Easy walk to the bay and cafes. Easy walk to the bus stop so we didn't have to drive to the function we were attending.

Property was nice enough. Clean and functional. Room was slightly small but it didn’t really matter as we were out and about every day. Only problem was the very loud guests that, due to there not being a meeting type space for groups onsite, used the corridor front of their rooms and allowed their children to run, screaming, from room to room. Also, did not see the property owner / manager once in our three night stay. If there was something amiss, you had to call a mobile number.

Expected the motel to be old given the photos and price per night for the time of year. We did not expect the carpet to be stained and dirty looking nor the general condition to be so shabby. There was no attempt to cover evidence of damage, bathroom hooks fallen off and stains on the bathroom floor. Took a while to find the light switch as a cupboard had been placed in front of it and there was only a faded mark with arrow to indicate placement. It was all very shabby. Bed linen and towels very clean as supplied by a laundry.

Not really sure how other reviewers could rate rhis property so high. The reception is non existent - a phone number is provided to call to gain access to the rooms. We did not have a phone plan and had to rely on another guest. This guest was provided with the combination to our room; not very safe. Our room was ground floor, made of brick, and was musty, moldy and the carpet filthy. The internet was very poor quality and unreliable. This may be a result of the brick walls. Overall, very unsatisfied.

was very basic, but overpriced (ass with everything in Nelson Bay) Room could do with some colour, was very dark and depressing, I had no inclination to go back to the room at any time. - and I'm usually not fussy.

We didn't have a car on this trip so it was good to stay somewhere that was walking distance to the water front and cafes

i think it was great value for money. our room had a lovely view and it was very clean. the single bed was a bit hard though. i’d stay again for sure.
