Wow! This is going to be my longest review ever but this new manhattan hotel deserves it. Feel good place!! Service of the Ritz Carlton, but with a younger, friendlier vibe. Impeccable, friendly warm and competent service throughout. None of the expected “too cool for school” New York pretension. They have been opened 4 months but everyone had answers to my many questions. Very nice sincere welcome at reception. Concierge came over to chat and introduce herself and the reception gal notified someone on the phone that I had arrived. She took me to my room and showed bar and breakfast room on the way. My butler Martin greeted us when we got off the elevator on the 14th floor. He must have been the phone call! Room Gorgeous interiors throughout - attention to detail is over the top. I wanted/needed to touch everything. Lots of beautiful wallpaper, murano glass lights, pleated fabric on the walls, very interesting art work everywhere. In the room: Windows that open Dyson dryer Snacks in room are included Butler meets you with warm towel and grapefruit cinnamon drink Lovely, warmly decorated room - felt like a beautiful guest room at downton abbey but for this century with high tech I pad controlling lighting/temp/tv, etc. finally a system that was intuitive for this aging traveler. Fantastically decorated with beautiful drapes, a pretty wardrobe with great hangers and drawers and some color. Very comfortable bed with beautiful bedding. Venetian glass water glasses. Beautiful bar and coffee setup that was easy to use. A pull out beverage fridge in a beautiful cabinet with an alligator pull! especially loved that detail. Too many of these fabulous touches to mention. Marble bath with big thick bath sheet size towels, great robes and even the slippers were the best and thickest I have seen. I was upgraded to a superior king. I usually book the cheapest room in an expensive hotel to get all the amenities and services and the smallest room is usually great so I can not comment on the cheapest room but a one level bump up was pretty fantastic. I had a small round dining table with chair which I suppose would have not been in the standard room. Nice space addition for a couple. I usually travel alone so I believe the smallest room would have been more than adequate. Huge TV with access to all the aps you probably already have. Very quiet room - clearly soundproof windows An attractive and out of the way bench to place your luggage Details galore Great bar and best whiskey sour ever. First class bartenders - even bus boy spoke and was friendly. I had several appetizers for dinner served at the bar. 2 drinks with call liquor and 2 appetizers came to $120 with tip. I did not have an opportunity to try Cafe Carmine as it is closed on Mondays. Beautiful buffet for breakfast - coconut yoghurt, cappuccino, fresh squeezed orange juice - included in your room rate, croissants and other baked goods were just ok. I did not try the ba
