I visited way out of season in order to attend a business meeting and to see family, and therefore, I didn't expect too much in terms of an experience like those described by those visiting in the peak season. In fact, I simply wanted a bit of peace and quiet, a warm place to sleep, a simple decent breakfast, broadband to watch TV at night, a bus to get into Newquay and a safe place to park my motorbike. I got all of these plus some wonderful opportunities to reminisce. My brothers and mum catching the steam train from Newquay to Chacewater in the late 1950's and early 1960s, which used to run just by the side of the pod where I slept and me walking past the shop in St.Newlyn East which is now a hairdressers but which my dad operated in the late 1960's and 1970's when he was a barbers. Now, of course, you won't have these memories, but you will get a fabulous place to stay at a great price and your own memories. I shall definitely try and return.
