The positive aspects of the hotel included a clean and comfortable bedroom with great views, as well as a good breakfast with attentive servers. However, the negative aspects were numerous, including a problematic check-in experience with miscommunications and delays, rude staff at the bar, and poor quality food at dinner. The bathroom in the room was also dated and the shower weak. Overall, the hotel fell short of its 5-star rating with subpar service and amenities.

The view from the hotel is wonderful. Walking distance out to the beach. Dinner at the restaurant was very good - excellent service and the food was perfect. All the staff I encountered were welcoming. Perfect for a relaxing night away

The check in was very disappointing, unfriendly, uncooperative and desperately slow. When we finally gained access a used cotton bud was lying on the bedroom floor, there was no in room phone or air con. Then to the bathroom, a disgrace, the shower was barely useable and quite frankly was more a closet than a ‘bathroom’. After dinner drinks were held in a bar that was so dark, the staff could hardly see us, perhaps that was why it took so long to be served? The checkout was much the same with same unsmiling staff member on duty. Very disappointing, not surprisingly we will not be back.

In General the hotel was good but we discovered late in the evening that they did not do any kind of 24 hour room service a service that is required for their five star status. The fact that its a small town meant there was no where locally to get any food late either so we went through the evening very hungry and little sympathy from the staff on duty......For the price we paid not worth it

The staff did not live up to the hotel's high standards. Two unfriendly young girls took care of checking in, while 2 boys (employees) hung listlessly over the counter and looked at the screens. So we felt very uncomfortable and not welcome. The worst was the poor soundproofing in the rooms. It was impossible to sleep because you could hear absolutely everything (corridor, adjoining room). You could also hear everything from the rooms in the hallway. Absolutely no privacy. I would very much like my money back for this holiday, we left earlier voluntarily...

Perfect stay for us Hotel was Lovely, in a great location with stunning views and lovely grounds The Staff were all excellent, very friendly and polite, all seemed to be happy at work and took a great pride in their work

Excellent location, close to golf course & town centre. We used the gym facilities. Also food was excellent quality (breakfast & evening meal).

A really nice way to spend a birthday weekend. Facilities, service and standards all good. Food was great in the Bass Rock Bar.
