We booked this without cancellation as my wife and I had no reason to.
My mother-in-law passed suddenly a few days before. I called the Hotel to ask about cancelling and was told I needed to contact Orbitz as it was through a third party and they were unable to. Orbitz called the hotel and explained the sudden death in our family and asked if they could make an exception on cancelling without being charged but they refused to.
Day of we decided to make use of it and get out of the house and in a different scenery for my wife to maybe help in some way. At around 10am we were able to assign a room, 3pm was check-in. We arrived at about 2:30ish but the room was not yet ready. So I asked why do they assign rooms early and not have them ready? I was told to wait until about 3pm and come back. Just after 3pm the room was still not ready and again I asked why assign rooms and not have them ready? If you assign rooms at 3pm check-in you assign a room that is available BUT if you assign a room at 10am those rooms assign should have priority in being ready as they are already assigned and then you get the rest of the rooms ready. Well at 3:15pm it was still not ready and we had to change our room.
Now for the room. It had this awful odor, the Air Conditioner was broken, extremely loud, staff at the counter was ignorant and rude as per my comments above. The room was dirty, walking on the carpets and your white socks end up black underneath. Disgusting.
