派希亞海灘度假村(Paihia Beach Resort & Spa Hotel)

No parking facility at the property, tight street parking spaces. I was told water was leaking from our bathroom into kitchen below- very unhygienic. There was water leaking from dishwasher (without using it). There was a lot of “may be” “could be” etc from staff, I had to pursue them for their plan and discount for inconvenience caused.

We managed to grab a 2 night special for $294.00 so felt the price was great. Liked the 4th floor room very big and fantastic balcony looking to the sea. Free wi fi lots of sky channels and the option to chromecast to the tv from your screening device. Staff friendly

15 minute walk to the historic Waitangi treaty grounds. 7 minute walk to the pier and to the town area. Good on premise restaurant, The GlassHouse. Beautiful sunrise view from rooms.

Awesome views, excellent staff who were polite and very professional. Really enjoyed the restaurant. Very welcoming and comfortable amenities.

The Photos and proclamation of a 5 star Resort gave reason for high expectations. Although years have seem to taken its toll, and this hotel is not in prime condition. Every spa along the pool side is non-functional/controls broken, tiles chipped, dirty. We didn't end up using them despite it being the primary reason for electing this hotel. The outside of the building needs a repaint, but the interior doesn't fair any better and numerous scratches marks, damage has shown years of neglect that have not been remedied. Many outdated nineties era fixtures are due for replacement (and not just for rusty/damage/appearance sake). Its a shame as this hotel has huge potential to be the best in Bay of Islands

The convenience of the location, and proximity to restaurants and and entertainment. Great staff and view. Didn’t like the parking garage if you need to leave early in the morning the gate was locked and no attendant. Other than that it was perfect 👍

Rooms and hotel very good. Spa and pool exceptional. The issue with this hotel is the staff need training in hospitality ie: being hospitable. In particular the restaurant staff. Both interactions with restaurant staff made us leave to go and have food off site. No hello, no smile. When we told the girl we are leaving after 5 minutes of no service she said thank you! No bookings available for Spa being told they are fully booked but it was actually closed. Asked the reception to call me back to order some drinks and book spa he didn’t. The staff here need basic hospitality training. There was a lack of urgency, poor communication and not enough staff working. I would have easily spent $600-$1000 if restaurant was staffed and hospitable. For me staff make or break a property. All that money spent on a great resort but staff major let down. Who ever the manager is they lack the skills to run a resort. For this reason I would not return.

Elements of the property of just rundown and shabby - wall dings and chips, dirty couch - it needs some work! The room itself was not cleaned well and front desk staff was unhelpful verging on rude. Disappointing stay and for a fairly high rate.
