群島灣假日公寓及房車公園(Bay of Islands Holiday Apartments)

We stayed two nights with our two boys. The apartment smelt musty, we thought it may have been just the humid day but it didn't get better the next day. We have stayed all over the North Island on this trip and this accommodation was not value for money compared to other places we have stayed. It needs a really good clean, the toilet seat was broken and their was a dodgy looking switch in the kitchen. The bottom bedroom was dungeon like coupled with the musty smell. Also no mention or sighting of a spa. It is a great location so could be great.

Staying in a camper van, this was probably the worst of the 16 sites we stayed at in New Zealand. The facilities were very limited, with showers charged extra. There were only three standard toilets and two disabled ones for a site of so many pitches. Two standard showers and two disabled ones were again not really sufficient for so many pitches. The toilets were not clean and had been constructed of bare wood that was now showing signs of rot setting in. The catering facilities consisted of two barbecues which we were told didn't work properly and three sinks in the open air. It is convenient being about a 10-minute walk into town, but that was its only benefit.

What a lovely site and such a lovely owner. I would highly recommend this site to people who want a no fuss, quiet site with the very best access to the beach and the town. Our host booked out boat tour for us and we received a discount because of that. I love the eco credentials of this site. The facilities are cleaned 4 times a day and are very clean. The pitches are grassy and very even. We are from the UK and were made to feel very welcome indeed. This site is an absolute must but don't tell too many people as we want some room for the next time we come back.

Another great break away, this is our 4th visit and highly recommend, we stayed in our motorhome. Jan is very welcoming and good for a chat😊 The amenities get cleaned 4 times are day and previously I have read comments saying that they haven’t been cleaned which we find hard to believe. Great location with Countdown over the road and easy walk into Paihia. We cannot fault this place at all. You will enjoy your stay, Katrina and John

We stayed here for one night and arrived at the specified time. The reception was not occupied, we could see which seat was allocated to us on a board. The showers were ok, but poorly ventilated. Unfortunately, we never saw an employee who could tell us the WIFI password. Unlimited Free Wifi is advertised but everything is encrypted and the password was nowhere to be found.

Another excellent experience at the park, my partner and I have been staying here since 2019 roughly on annual basis, the apartments have always been clean and well appointed with delightfully high water pressure in the shower! Jan and her wonderfully friendly furry companion Oliver are welcoming and are well informed about what is going on in the area, ensuring you do not miss the must see activities in the area.

My family and I stayed 2 nights at the Bay of Islands holiday apartments- in the holiday cottages . The accommodation is ok , however the BBQ needs to be repaired -it was rusted and not stable. The cottages need a good deep clean - there were stains on some of the furniture .For the amount we were charged I have higher expectations of cleanliness and amenities. There was a distinct price / value mismatch . I recognize that our stay coincided with peak holiday time , however the price / value gap was too large .

We were looking for pet friendly places to stay. Location is great Countdown and petrol stations and beach all very close only a short walk away. Campground was tidy and no noise from fellow campers .WiFi works better the closer you are to the office.

Excellent apartment amendments for our 5 day stay. Quiet, pretty grounds and free laundry. A special call out for Jan. She is terrific. Thank you, Jan!
