天悅飯店(The Skylark, a Palm Springs Hotel)

We stayed in what I assume was a renovated room. There was nice wallpaper, a new bathroom, and fun art. However, all of the surfaces were scraped on the edges or had discolored areas on top. The room had a weird smell. The AC made a weird rattling noise that, when reported to the front desk, "happens in the summer." The only solution was to turn it off and open a window (the window had no screen). The beds were either too soft or too used. No microwave in the room. Staff we interacted with were friendly. Breakfast was provided and was OK, but the fresh fruit was old.

Great stay at Skylark. I’m always hesitant to try a new hotel, but I took a chance, booked Skylark to save a few hundred dollars and I will stay with them again. We bought ice cream late at night, and of course forgot to pick up spoons. I knocked on the door of the breakfast room and an employee graciously gave me spoons. It’s the little things that make for a pleasant stay. Also, the pool is open 24 hours.

We have been at the Skylark several times before and our stays were always very nice. The pool area is always great and very clean. The view to the mountains very pleasings. It is in a part of Palms Springs we like, a few blocks up from the uptown, very close to Vista Las Palmas and Old Las Palmas neighborhoods. They are doing some reforms in rooms and they look great. We stay first in a very nice old one (not done yet), and then in a new one, with a great new done bathroom, and other details. Keep up with the remake!

The reception and pool area were exceptional, clean, well cared for areas. The rooms were dated, but we could tell that things were being updated. My complaint with this hotel the room was cleanliness - dusty windowsills, carpet seemed dirty but it might have just been old - shower curtain in the bathroom was plastic ripped and about to disintegrate . I think what this hotel needs is a better maid!

Very clean and great vibe. Heated pool open 24 hours. Nice breakfast. Comfortable bed and nicely appointed room.

The best parts of the room was it's large size, comfort, and places to store clothing. The breakfast was also better than we expected, although the quiche gets cold quickly (although even then it was tasty). The downside was the drain on our shower worked poorly and it never got fixed (over a weekend). The location was great: an easy 5 minute ride to downtown, very near the aerial tramway, but in a quiet location.

Overall good. They were going through a renovation on the front part of the hotel, but they did a good job accommodating guests through the process. The staff was very responsive to questions, or needs of the guests. The free breakfast was one of the highlights. A quality arrangement of quality food. Great egg frittata, and organic options. Unlike other hotels that have cheap food. They put effort and thoughtfulness behind the meal. My only light complaint was that the room attendant only cleaned the basics. Floors weren’t cleaned at times, but overall okay. The other thing is that the hotel played music throughout the grounds, sometimes too loud but okay. They were probably trying mitigate the noise from the renovation. Again, these are light comments. Overall a nice hotel and great time there.

Classic Palm Springs vibe with a nice pool and rooms with beautiful Mountain View’s. The vintage design combined with the view was very relaxing. Hotel was very clean and the staff was super friendly and very sweet. We had a great time and we’ll be back for a longer stay next time.
