Very nice location with a lot of excursions possibilities. Food selection could be better, e.g. sunset restaurant offers only Italian food.

Good place to stay

Mon séjour à l’Alunan Resort a été tout simplement incroyable. L’accueil chaleureux et l’attitude serviable du personnel ont fait toute la différence. Ils étaient toujours souriants et prêts à aider à tout moment. Mes sœurs et moi avons vécu une expérience mémorable grâce à eux. Le service était impeccable, dépassant toutes nos attentes. Un grand merci à Yann, au capitaine du bateau Maya, et au barman pour leur service exceptionnel. Leur attention aux détails et leur convivialité ont vraiment ajouté une touche spéciale à notre séjour. Le propriétaire de l’hôtel s’est montré extrêmement accueillant, ce qui nous a fait sentir comme à la maison dès notre arrivée. En ce qui concerne la nourriture, elle était absolument délicieuse. Je recommande vivement les spaghettis aux fruits de mer, un véritable régal. En conclusion, je recommande cet hôtel à 100%. Si vous cherchez un endroit où vous détendre tout en étant entouré de personnes aimables et professionnelles, l’Alunan Resort est le choix idéal.

We had a wonderful experience at Alunan. The resort’s amenities are a little bit out of date, but it doesn’t affect the functionality. And the services can more than make up for the hardware. The unlimited package is definitely worth the money. The sunset tour is beautiful, and the two snorkeling tours in the morning and the afternoon are both wonderful. They would take you to different spots around the island. The highlight for the morning trip is the Rawa Island where the water is crystal clear and the cliff jumping is definitely unforgettable. The sharks and turtles in the afternoon trip are a must-see. We also tried the snorkeling spot at the resort, which is surprisingly good. We owe our gratitude to the staffs, especially Yann and Richal, who are so helpful and friendly. Thanks also to the Italian chefs who made the dinners so good. I particularly liked the steak. We left our hearts at Alunan.

~ Positive points Overall it was a great trip, unlimited package was totally worth it. The food was awesome especially the salmon for me. Highlights were the Best of Perhentian trip (bonus ~ clif jumping) and the Sunset Cruise with unlimited alcohol totally enjoyable. I rated 5 star mainly for the Alunan staffs, they were very friendly and helpful, especially Yann & Richal helping my wife for snorkelling, Azman & Chea help to share info regarding the resort, Cel and Diana helped out on our room replacement. All of them went extra mile to help us out. ~Points to improve The Room, Please don’t expect much, due to the extreme hot weather, the aircond wasn’t strong enough to cool the entire room, we changed to another room but yet the aircond was not able to cover the entire room, somehow we managed. Hope the management can improve on the room aircond. FYI we took the suites, the villa looks great from exterior point, may be will try villa the next time. The staff and overall experience was amazing. Our TV couldn’t connect to wifi so unable to access movies - the tech person did try to fix problem but was unable to. The breakfast was ok. On our walk to Long Beach we were ambushed and charged by wild monkeys - maybe think twice before venturing off grounds. The snorkeling experience was amazing though overpriced.

I'm no stranger to beautiful islands in Malaysia, but it is my partner and his Chinese friends first time to Perhentian Island so I decided to choose our stay with Alunan. And I must say, the resort exceeds my expectations. We enjoyed everything from the beginning to the end of our stay, the welcome drink and friendly Priscilla and her team at the reception, stunning view from the resort room, clean and spacious room, well managed facilities, and very prompt replies to requests. Foods are all good. Love the unlimited package allows me to sip on my gin tonic like no one’s business. We enjoyed the food and view at the Italian restaurant for dinner both evenings. The staff in restaurant will always make sure you leave with happy stomach. The excursions were great with Yan and his team took us to some great places. We saw turtles but not sure if is “Katy Perry”, sunset cruise on Luna with Cel was a great way to mark our last evening in the island. I will definitely come back to Alunan whenever we visit the Perhentian Island.

It's a beautiful eco friendly resort with good amenities, pool, smart tv, spa and activities like scruba experience, batik painting and jungle trekking. Staff are courteous and friendly. They also upgraded our sunset picnic to a sunset cruise. The only downside is I dont think the quality quite meets the price. However, I did get a 50% off deal for the opening weekend after the monsoon season is over.
