RKPO 格林度假村(Rkpo Green Resort)

We had booked this hotel via our travel agent as a part of the tour package. There were limited options for Punakha and this had reasonable reviews. What we liked: Good location. Check in and checkout were quite fast. Connecting rooms were provided though not requested so added a bonus point for this! Staff is polite and helpful Property is clean Food is good. As it was off season and hardly any other guests, as we had breakfast & dinner in our package, we were provided with an option to select anything from the menu as there was no buffet. Food was tasty. Thanks to the chef who provided good food, we rated this resort higher. Its walking distance from Chimi Lhakhang if we walk through the fields Has great views of the valley What we did not like: Rooms have creaky wooden boards Property looks a bit dated Room heating could be improved a bit and bathrooms are quite chilly Water heating & water supply needs improvement Lastly, a point which caused us to remove a point from our review was that we had booked two rooms and one of the occupant was not well. So both days she hardly had anything for breakfast or dinner. To avoid food wastage we had even asked the restaurant staff accordingly and had limited food. But as the person was not well had asked for a couple of fruits like apple or orange, as the person was not in a position to even travel. So the hotel charged us even for that. Though we did not mind paying, as we have traveled many locations, first time saw a hotel charging and usually many hotels provide a fruit basket if requested without any charges.

Green by name and green by nature as the outside is a pale green. The rooms are outside the main building and on the hill behind it, they are all one would expect of a high class UK hotel with the bonus of having absolutely stunning views across the valley. The rooms are large, perfectly appointed and with very comfortable beds. The food they offer is to the standard one would expect from a place of this quality.

It is quite a big hotel in a beautiful landscape. You need to be prepared to climb a lot of stairs there. Hot water is only several hours in the morning and in the evening, one needs to be organized well. The hotel can not be evaluated as 4 stars hotel until the old cracking wooden floor is fixed. It is difficult to walk without making a lot of noise and sound isolation between the rooms is not the best. The staff of the hotel is welcoming and nice, but I did not feel well seeing tiny girls carrying heavy suitcases of the guests up and down steep stairs… I would recommend the kitchen chef to provide more Bhutanese dishes as while in Bhutan it is important to try local food.

Property is quite huge & impressive! You get a superb view of the valleys & mountains sitting in your rooms. Food is quite good and tasty too. The owner (local lady) is very sweet & co-operative! They have an extended terrace at the 1st floor level facing the valleys & mountains which is an ideal place to sit in the evenings around the bon fire.

A quiet hotel perched up on the hill above the valley. Stunning terraces (perfect for a glass of wine!), clean rooms, and delicious food! Only complaints are that the hot water is a bit hit or miss (usually scalding or freezing) and the Wi-Fi was very poor (the only place you can get service is the lobby).

The hotel is made in a contemporary Bhutanese style but now in a bit of run down state. Though the rooms were big with good views, but the hotel lacked the hospitality quotient. Basic services in the restaurant were terrible with limited tasteless food options. Servers are not bothered about service, with food not being replenished well in time and despite asking for even a basic thing like water during meals, there was indifferent attitude. The hospitality industry is based on service / taking care of your guest which was totally missing in this hotel, which is unlike other resorts I stayed in Bhutan during my visit. Definitely, avoid food here even if you have to stay here.

The hotel was very average, mostly visited by big travel groups that are extremely noisy. The rooms are large but not well maintained. The floor in the room made too much noise and we could hear our neighbours. The hotel is far from the town. Our room had a good view of the paddy fields. The breakfast was really depressing. Dinner buffet consisted of 5 indian dishes.

Having frequented the Rkpo green resort many times, I can confidently say it's a 4-star haven of comfort, cleanliness and stunning landscapes. Helpful and friendly staff. Decent meals. it's a great stay. Highly recommend.
