達費林平台飯店(Hotel Terrasse Dufferin)

I'm dismayed to have to write such a critical review, but in all my years, I've never encountered such a disreputable management of any hotel. Simply put, the manager is a thief! I booked two rooms. Unfortunately, due to the approaching hurricane Lee, our transportation to PEI cancelled. So, I cancelled with the hotel; first, I attempted this via phone, 8 days before our arrival and had to leave a message. Then, the next day, in the morning, I followed up with an email and phone call. The manager was extremely rude and condescending. He spoke perfect English, yet upon being informed that I would be charged the first night's rent, I objected and pointed out that his website stated 48 hours is all that's required. He replied, "No, no, no, no, no...7 days." Fine, I replied: I'm giving you 7 days notice right now -- eight, if you consider yesterday's call. Suddenly, he claimed he didn't understand English and to send him an email! "I already did that," I responded, whereupon he hung up on me. Then, two days later, he charged my card $300! Then, three days after that, he charged my card another $435!! All of this days before we were even suppose to arrive. I'm handling their theft via my credit card company, mais c'est incroyable, n'est ce pas? /Users/zehutiman/Desktop/IMG_0103.jpeg

The location is very nice, right near the walking terrase (view of the golf) and close to the city center. The room was very small (and had a strange smell...of old), the bed was very-very small (could hardly fit 2 thin persons) + the matress was not comfortable at all. The room window could not be opened - for airing the room we opened a bit the windown in the bathroom. The bathroom was also small. (If you come from the train station you need to pass the whole center to get to the hotel - you can use as reference the big hotel Fairmont)

Liked · Location is amazing, literally steps away from everything within Quebec Old City. Numerous restaurants and tourist attractions within quick walking distance. We were given room 16 on the 3rd floor which had a small balcony and faced the river; the view alone is worth staying at this hotel. As a side note, if you have mobility issues or are older you may want to ask to stay on the main floor as there are many steps/stairs. The room itself was small but adequate, I'm not sure the bed was a queen; I would say it was a double (I'm 5'8' and my feet were hanging off the end). The shower was alright, but you need to be really careful as I was almost scalded a few times from REALLY hot water. The house itself is very old, so understand there are some nuances because of this. Staff was very nice, and we never had an issue with anything. A few updates would be nice, i.e. a larger flat screen TV, and maybe add a hairdryer to the bathroom. Disliked · Bed was too small (although comfortable); it was hard to get a good night's sleep.

L'emplacement et le personnel super chaleureux font oublier que les installations sont du pour un rajeunissement. Il y avait des araignées dans la chambres et le decor désuet.

You can not beat a price and location of this charming hotel! Our group was 7 people and we good 2 beautiful spacious rooms. The hotel is old, rooms are dated but very clean, cozy, comfortable beds and good quality sheets. It had a small kitchen with coffee and muffins and an amazing view of river! We arrived earlier and got 2 parking spots, we were lucky! Not so many parking at the hotel, but you can easily find around. Gentlemen at the front desk is very nice, speaks English as well :) We would definitely stay here again, hopefully this winter.
