拉舒爾特旅舍(Auberge la Chouette)

Overall good stay. It's a self service hotel, which wasn't clear on the hotels description, upon arrival I didn't have the self-checkin instructions but I called the hotel number and they were quick to send me an email and even allow me to check-in earlier. Check-out was also really easy and I was even able to check-out later too. Only downside was that there wasn't an option for breakfast as it states on the hotel description. It would've been great if there were mugs or cups in the room and a plus if there was also a selection of teas as complementary. There was no where nearby that I could get a bottle of water or a hot drink, so it'd have been nice to have something in the room. Lastly for any light sleepers - the building is not sound proof so you can easily hear other guests talking in the corridor or going up the stairs etc. Other than that good stay overall - thank you Auberge la Chouette

I was booked by trip.com but they send check-in email to *******, so I was difficult to check in but tidy and easy to sightseeing quebec.

This hotel is in a great location and was primarily why we chose it. As some of the other reviews mention, it does have a large spiral staircase leading up to the rooms so it is not a good choice if you have any accessibility concerns. We liked the automated hotel system as it was easy to get to our room and get settled without having to stand in lines. We stayed for a week and were in two different rooms and both were clean with charm. The first room had a very hard bed so we had difficulty sleeping. The hotel was also under construction which we weren’t told about and isn’t mentioned on their website so we were woken up by noise at 5:30 am two days. Due to electrical problems in connection with the construction, we were asked to move to a different room. The second room had a much comfier bed but it had plumbing problems mainly very low water pressure and the toilet wouldn’t always flush. We never received attendance to our rooms so towels were not updated. During the second half of the week, a family was staying there and they let their preteens run around the hotel, yelling, playing games, and jumping until 3:00 am. While this is a parenting issue, it’s difficult because there is no staff on sight to address these kinds of issues so you just have to deal with it. All automated hotels we have stayed in before had 18+ policies to address this. The rooms were cute and it was in a great spot, but with no room attendance and construction, should be discounted.

L’auberge est très bien. La localisation et la propreté c’était parfait. Mais on aurait aimé avoir une machine à café, des verres et des tasses. Peut-être aussi une petite table pour travailler avec un laptop. Nous avons trouvé les matelas moyennement confortable (un peu dur). L’auberge semblait en rénovation et on entendait les travaux résonner très tôt le matin. Aussi un conteneur prend le seul espace dédié au débarcadère sur la rue.

C'est rendu un hôtel "sans personnel", ce que nous ne savions pas en réservant. L'accès à notre chambre a été très difficile et de plus, pour de l'assistance nous devons communiquer par texto. Il y a bien un numéro de téléphone d'urgence mais c'est un service uniquement anglophone pour se faire dire que "L'Auberge de la Chouette" ne faisait plus partie de leur client...

Apparently this property has new owners and we were the first guest. We didn't know when we booked that they are running as a "fully automated" hotel now. We received an email with instructions on how to enter the property using a keypad. There was no staff on site. All of the furniture is brand new. The room was small but well furnished. It smelled of fresh paint. Ther was a queen bed, small side tables, a dorm-sized fridge, armoire, and chair. There is no elevator or parking. Our room was on the 3rd of 4 floors with a small spiral staircase. All in all everything was fine! It was unexpected that it wasnt a full hotel but all went smoothly with the "fully automated" procedure.
